Precision Measurement of theB→XsγPhoton Energy Spectrum, Branching Fraction, and DirectCPAsymmetryACP(B→Xs+dγ)

The photon spectrum in the inclusive electromagnetic radiative decays of the B meson, B → X_sγ plus B → X_dγ, is studied using a data sample of (382.8±4.2)×10^6Υ(4S) → BB decays collected by the BABAR experiment at SLAC. The spectrum is used to extract the branching fraction B(B → X_sγ)=(3.21±0.33)×10^(-4) for E_γ > 1.8  GeV and the direct CP asymmetry A_(CP)(B → X_(s+d)γ)=0.057±0.063. The effects of detector resolution and Doppler smearing are unfolded to measure the photon energy spectrum in the B meson rest frame.

Exclusive non-leptonic charm baryon decays

We present a spectator quark model calculation of the Cabibbo-enhanced non-leptonic decays of the lowest lying charm baryons Λc, Ξc and Ωc decaying into non-charm ground state baryons and mesons. We employ covariant quark model wave functions to describe the ground state baryons and mesons. They are obtained by boosting rest frame wave functions to equal velocity frames. The non-leptonic decay amplitudes are then obtained in terms of two wave function overlap parameters which we fit to the experimental data. Nucleon form factors, B-meson factories and the radiative return

The feasibility of a measurement of the electric and magnetic nucleon form factors at $B$-meson factories through the radiative return is studied. Angular distributions allow a separation of the contributions from the two form factors. The distributions are presented for the laboratory and the hadronic rest frame, and the advantages of different coordinate systems are investigated. It is demonstrated that $Q^2$ values up to 8 or even 9 GeV$^2$ are within reach. The Monte Carlo event generator PHOKHARA is extended to nucleon final states, and results are presented which include Next-to-Leading Order radiative corrections from initial-state radiation. Transverse-Momentum Distributions and Spherical Symmetry

Transverse-momentum dependent parton distributions (TMDs) are studied in the framework of quark models. In particular, quark model relations among TMDs are reviewed and their physical origin is discussed in terms of rotational-symmetry properties of the nucleon state in its rest frame.

Measurement of the correlation between the polar angles of leptons from top quark decays in the helicity basis ats=7  TeVusing the ATLAS detector

A measurement of the correlations between the polar angles of leptons from the decay of pair-produced t and (t) over bar quarks in the helicity basis is reported, using proton-proton collision data collected by the ATLAS detector at the LHC. The dataset corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 4.6 fb(-1) at a center-of-mass energy of root s = 7 TeV collected during 2011. Candidate events are selected in the dilepton topology with large missing transverse momentum and at least two jets. The angles theta(1) and theta(2) between the charged leptons and the direction of motion of the parent quarks in the t (t) over bar rest frame are sensitive to the spin information, and the distribution of …

Observation ofe+e−→ρ+ρ−nears=10.58  GeV

We report the first observation of e^+e^- → ρ^+ρ^-, in a data sample of 379 fb^(-1) collected with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II e+e- storage ring at center-of-mass energies near √s = 10:58 GeV. We measure a cross section of σ(e^+e^- → ρ^+ρ^-)= 8:3 ± 0:7(stat)± 0:8(syst) fb within the range of │cosθ^*│ < 0:8 and │ cosθ_±│ < 0:85, where θ^* is the center-of-mass polar angle of the ρ^± meson and θ_± are the angles in the ρ^± rest frame between the direction of the boost from the laboratory frame and the direction of the π^±. Assuming production through single-photon annihilation, there are three independent helicity amplitudes. We measure the ratios of their squared moduli to be │F_(00)│^2…

Deep inelastic scattering on the quark-gluon plasma

We provide an interpretation of the structure functions of a thermal medium such as the quark-gluon plasma in terms of the scattering of an incoming electron on the medium via the exchange of a spacelike photon. We then focus on the deep-inelastic scattering (DIS) regime, and formulate the corresponding moment sum rules obeyed by the structure functions. Accordingly, these moments are given by the thermal expectation value of twist-two operators, which is computable from first principles in lattice QCD for the first few moments. Relativistic corrections to the vector meson light front wave function

We compute a light front wave function for heavy vector mesons based on long distance matrix elements constrained by decay width analyses in the Non Relativistic QCD framework. Our approach provides a systematic expansion of the wave function in quark velocity. The first relativistic correction included in our calculation is found to be significant, and crucial for a good description of the HERA exclusive $\mathrm{J}/\psi$ production data. When looking at cross section ratios between nuclear and proton targets, the wave function dependence does not cancel out exactly. In particular the fully non-relativistic limit is found not to be a reliable approximation even in this ratio. The important…
