MOTO -kerholaisten koulumenestys peruskoulun 6. luokalla ja heidän kokemuksiaan liikunnasta ja oppimisesta 9. luokalla
2013
TIIVISTELMÄ Reinikka, Osmo. 2013. MOTO -kerholaisten koulumenestys peruskoulun 6. luokalla ja heidän kokemuksiaan liikunnasta ja oppimisesta 9. luokalla. Liikuntapedagogiikan pro gradu -tutkielma. Liikuntakasvatuksen laitos. Jyväskylän yliopisto, 105 s. Tämän tapaustutkimuksen tavoitteena oli tutkia peruskoulun ensimmäisellä luokalla motorista kehitystä tukevaan MOTO -kerhoon osallistuneiden oppilaiden koulumenes-tystä ja kokemuksia. Tutkimuksen määrällinen aineiston osa koostui 51 oppilaan kuu-dennen luokan kevättodistuksien liikunnan, äidinkielen, vieraan kielen, matematiikan, historian ja käyttäytymisen arvosanoista, joita verrattiin kunkin oppilaan oman luokan keskitasoon. Laadullinen a…

From the field to the academic sphere how teachers professional identities and roles have changed in post-war Finland This study explores teacher autobiographies. The span of the writings extends mainly from the Second World War to the new millennium. The autobiographers are mostly elementary and secondary school teachers in Finland, although there are a few who have worked in vocational schools, polytechnic institutes or one of the various adult education centres. The researcher is aware of the diversity among those educational institutions and their teachers, but wanted to concentrate on similarities rather than differences. The autobiographers have been explored with four different resea…

The molecule of the title compound, [Rh(C42H62O3P)(C74H68O4P2]·2.7C7D8, consists of two phospharhodacyclic substructures sharing the Rh atom, which are formed by coordination/ortho-metallation of a triaryl phosphite, and by the coordination of a rigid bisphosphite, respectively. The metal displays a tetrahedrally distorted square-planar coordination geometry. A tert-butyl group shows rotational disorder over two positions with refined site occupancy of 0.561 (3):0.439 (3). Two partial-occupancy toluene solvent molecules are disordered over two orientations with site occupancies of 0.5:0.3 and 0.5:0.4, respectively. Intramolecular C—H...O hydrogen bonds are observed. In the crystal, complex …
The nature of the syllabic neighbourhood effect in French
2006
International audience; We investigated whether and how sublexical units such as phonological syllables mediate access to the lexicon in French visual word recognition. To do so, two lexical decision task (LDT) experiments examined the nature of the syllabic neighbourhood effect. In Experiments 1a and b, the number of higher frequency syllabic neighbours was manipulated while controlling for the first bigram. The results failed to show a pure syllabic neighbourhood effect. In Experiments 2a and b, syllabic neighbourhood and bigram frequency were factorially manipulated. The interaction showed that the syllabic neighbourhood effect was inhibitory when bigram frequency was high, whereas it wa…
DFT Prediction of Enhanced Reducibility of Monoclinic Zirconia upon Rhodium Deposition.
2018
Oxides are an important class of materials and are widely used, for example, as supports in heterogeneous catalysis. In a number of industrial catalytic processes, oxide supports actively participate in chemical transformations by releasing lattice oxygen anions. While this is intuitively understood for reducible oxides, the reducibility of irreducible oxides may be modified via nanoengineering or upon inclusion of foreign species. Our calculations predict that the ability of irreducible monoclinic zirconia to release oxygen improves substantially upon deposition of rhodium. Through a comprehensive screening of Rh/ZrO2 with different size of the rhodium species, we find that a Rh adatom and…

Can fathers' leave take-up dismantle gendered parental responsibilities? Evidence from Finland
2022
Objective: This article reports on the associations of fathers' leave take-up with parents' care responsibilities when their child is around four years old. Background: In families with small children women continue to do more parental care work than men. Several studies, however, have suggested that fathers who take up parental leave also take more responsibility for childcare. Method: We applied logistic regression analysis to Finnish survey data collected in 2019 from the mothers and fathers of four-year-old children to find out whether father’s take-up and length of leave is related to fathers taking equal or more responsibility for different dimensions of parental responsibilities, inc…
Fathers’ Leave Take-Up in Finland : Motivations and Barriers in a Complex Nordic Leave Scheme
2019
Despite being the first country in the world to introduce paternity leave in 1978, Finland’s current national leave scheme is complex with regard to incentivizing fathers’ take-up. Taking the unique Finnish leave scheme as a case example, this article examines fathers’ motivations and barriers to leave. Although research on fathers’ take-up of leave in divergent leave policy contexts has increased dramatically, fathers’ motivations and barriers to leave have remained underresearched. The article reports on a survey sample of 852 Finnish fathers of infants who were taking paternity, parental, and other forms of leave, drawn from the Population Register Center. Results show that less than 20%…
