Hybrid model of an inventer-induction motor system
1969
A model of the three-phase bridge inverter with a wide range of validity is proposed. This model can be used for the simulation of the inverter induction motor system on a hybrid computer or an analogue computer. In the latter case it is necessary to achieve a logical device which realizes the inverter model. After a block diagram for the simulation of the inverter induction motor system is illustrated as well as the circuital diagram of the device which simulates the inverter. Finally the authors describe the tests carried out in order to verify the validity of the inverter model and the correct operating of the device which simulates the inverter.
A correction method for the analysis of continuous linear one-dimensional systems under moving loads
2008
A new correction procedure for dynamic analysis of linear, proportionally damped, continuous systems under traveling concentrated loads is proposed; both cases of non-parametric (moving forces) and parametric (moving mass) loads are considered. Improvement in the evaluation of the dynamic response is obtained by separating the contribution of the low-frequency (LF) modes from that of the high-frequency (HF) modes. The former is calculated, as usual, by classical modal analysis, while the latter is taken into account using a new series expansion of the corresponding particular solution. The advantage of the suggested method is immediately shown in the calculation of the stress distribution s…
Synthesis of Enantiopure ω-(4-Fluorophenyl)-6,11-Methylene Lipoxin B4 Methyl Ester
2021
AbstractThe synthesis of Lipoxin B4 analogues (LXB4) to gain access to stabilized inflammation-resolving compounds is an active field of research. Focusing on variation and stabilization of the conjugated E,Z,E,E C6–C13 tetraene moiety of natural LXB4, a methylene bridge introduced between C6 and C11 suppresses any Z/E isomerization of the C8–C9 olefin. Furthermore, rapid ω-oxidation (C20) should be avoided by replacing the C18–C20 segment by an aromatic moiety. Optically active C1–C12 building blocks were accessed from methyl cycloheptatriene-1-carboxylate (C6–C11, C21) and glutaryl chloride (C1–C5) as described earlier. The ω-segment was generated via a five-step sequence starting from 4-…
Assessing the impact of CMF-like/Anthracycline-based/Anthracycline-Taxane-based/dose-dense chemotherapy in dependency of positive axillary lymph node…
2014
Abstract Aim Adjuvant chemotherapy has changed dramatically in the last decades. Anthracycline-/Taxane-based and dose-dense chemotherapy regimens improved survival in node positive breast cancer. This study tries to answer the following questions: (1)Are there differences in survival dependent on chemotherapy regimens in stratified by number of positive lymph nodes/grading (G)/hormone receptor-status (HR)/T-stage? (2)Is it possible to attribute these effects to chemotherapy by only investigating patients who received 100% guideline-conform surgery, radiotherapy and endocrine therapy? Methods This is a German multi-centre (17 participating hospitals all certified as breast cancer centres) re…
Optimizing taxane use in MBC in the emerging era of targeted chemotherapy.
2013
The first-generation taxanes, conventional paclitaxel and docetaxel, are established treatment options for adjuvant and metastatic breast cancer (MBC). However, these agents have limitations, including primary/secondary resistance and harsh toxicities. The introduction of paclitaxel albumin represents a significant advance in taxane therapy as the first of a new generation of taxanes. This agent utilizes albumin pathways to achieve enhanced and targeted drug delivery to the tumour. The lack of solvent also means that it is well tolerated, despite the lack of premedications. Paclitaxel albumin is licensed in the United States and Europe as ≥2nd-line therapy in MBC (260mg/m(2) once every thre…
The Impact of Age on Quality of Life in Breast Cancer Patients Receiving Adjuvant Chemotherapy: A Comparative Analysis From the Prospective Multicent…
2016
Elderly breast cancer patients are affected by poorer quality of life (QoL) compared to younger patients. Because QoL has a relevant impact on guideline-adherent treatment, elderly breast cancer patients are often undertreated, especially with regard to adjuvant chemotherapy, and overall survival is decreased. Thus, understanding the impact of chemotherapy on QoL in elderly patients is crucial. This study compared QoL in patients aged 65 years and 65 to 70 years receiving adjuvant chemotherapy as a secondary outcome in the prospective randomized multicenter ADEBAR trial.Patients with lymph node-positive breast cancer were prospectively randomized for either sequential anthracycline-taxane o…
Nine weeks versus 1 year adjuvant trastuzumab in combination with chemotherapy: final results of the phase III randomized Short-HER study
2018
Background: Chemotherapy plus 1-year trastuzumab is the standard adjuvant treatment of HER2-positive breast cancer. The efficacy of less extended trastuzumab exposure is under investigation. The short-HER study was aimed to assess the non-inferiority of 9 weeks versus 1 year of adjuvant trastuzumab combined with chemotherapy. Patients and methods: HER2-positive breast cancer patients with node-positive or, if node negative, with at least one risk factor (pT>2 cm, G3, lympho-vascular invasion, Ki-67 > 20%, age 35 years, or hormone receptor negativity) were randomly assigned to receive sequential anthracycline-taxane combinations plus 1-year trastuzumab (arm A, long) or plus 9 weeks tra…
Unemployment and Vacancy Dynamics with Imperfect Financial Markets
2018
This paper proposes a simple general equilibrium model with labour market frictions and an imperfect financial market. The aim of the paper is to analyse the transitional dynamics of unemployment and vacancies when financial constraints are in place. We model the financial sector as a monopolistically competitive banking sector that intermediates financial capital between firms. This structure implies a per period financial resource constraint which has a closed form solution and describes the transition path of unemployment and vacancies to their steady state values. We show that the transition path crucially depends on the degree of wage flexibility. When wages do not depend on the unempl…
Association between sella turcica bridging and altered direction of dental eruption: A case-control study
2019
Background Calcification between the anterior and posterior clinoid processes, also the so-called sella turcica bridging, has been associated in some studies with skeletal anomalies as well as with dental and eruption disturbances. It was hypothesized that sella turcica bridging was associated with an altered direction of dental eruption. The aim of the study was to assess whether there was a relationship between the degree of calcification and the presence or absence of an alteration in the tooth eruption direction. Material and methods A case-control multicenter study was conducted. The study population consisted of 150 subjects (age 10-50 years), 30 of which presented some type of altera…
