Polyphased mesozoic rifting from the Atlas to the north-west Africa paleomargin

24 pages; International audience; Based on the interpretation of geological maps, seismic reflection and well data complemented with a bibliographic compilation and field work in the Rif, we investigate the factors that control the rift initiation, its development and the formation of oceanic crust in NW Africa. From SE to NW, we examine the Western Sahara Atlas, the Tendrara, the Guercif, and the Rif basins, to establish their geodynamic evolution in relation with the Mesozoic formation of the Central Atlantic and Maghrebian Tethys oceans, respectively. Characterization of a medium size Xe/TMA TPC instrumented with microbulk Micromegas, using low-energy gamma-rays

NEXT-MM is a general-purpose high pressure (10 bar, $\sim25$ l active volume) Xenon-based TPC, read out in charge mode with an 8 cm $\times$8 cm-segmented 700 cm$^2$ plane (1152 ch) of the latest microbulk-Micromegas technology. It has been recently commissioned at University of Zaragoza as part of the R&D of the NEXT $0\nu\beta\beta$ experiment, although the experiment's first stage is currently being built based on a SiPM/PMT-readout concept relying on electroluminescence. Around 2 million events were collected during the last months, stemming from the low energy $\gamma$-rays emitted by a $^{241}$Am source when interacting with the Xenon gas ($\epsilon$ = 26, 30, 59.5 keV). Radial and peripheral clines in northern polymorphic populations of Philaenus spumarius

Geographic variability in the colour polymorphism of Philaenus spumarius (Homoptera) was investigated in the northern parts of Finland, Norway and Sweden. The investigation was directed mainly at peripheral populations south of the Baltic—Arctic divide. The colour phenotypes were found to differ in their “north tolerance”. The phenotypes typ (pt/pt) and lat (pt/pt) were the most, and the phenotype tri (pt/pT) the least tolerant to marginal conditions. Differences in “north tolerance” between the phenotypes cause radial clines to be present in allele frequencies. The radial clines may be caused by the combined effect of several different factors. The founder principle, founder selection, and evolutionary divergence and convergence in natural populations of Philaenus

Parts of the archipelago of the Baltic Sea are rising above the water level at a steady, slow rate. Plant species appear on the emerging islands in a definite order, and an early stage and a late stage can be distinguished in the development of meadows on the islands. In 1969–1973 four populations of Philaenus spumarius living in meadows at the early stage had widely different frequencies of the alleles determining colour polymorphism. In the same years three Philaenus populations living on islands with meadows at the late stage had closely similar allele frequencies. Mitochondrial DNA effects on fitness in Drosophila subobscura

We tested different fitness components on a series of conspecific mtDNA haplotypes, detected by RFLPs in Drosophila subobscura. Additionally, haplotype VIII, endemic to the Canary Islands, was tested upon its own native nuclear DNA background and upon that of the rest of mtDNAs tested herein. We found that both nuclear and mitochondrial DNA can have a significant effect upon their hosts' fitness, and that negative selection is one of the mechanisms that can intervene in this species' mtDNA haplotype pattern. Interpopulation hybridization can increase the viability of small populations suffering from inbreeding and genetic drift, but it can also result in outbreeding depression. The literature has shown that organizational temporariness can influence organizational outcomes and employee behavior. Using a sample of 341 members of temporary organizations, we investigate job satisfaction and organizational commitment in a permanent organization and person-job fit in a temporary organization as antecedents of employee performance. Abstract Consumers do not easily trust brands’ claims of naturalness, making it essential to understand the drivers of loyalty and the underlying brand love for such products. Responding to this need, the present study developed a conceptual model based on the Behavioral Reasoning Theory (BRT) to examine the antecedents of brand love.
