Effect of conjugated system extension on structural features and electron-density distribution in charge–transfer difluoroborates

2021

A comparative structural study of two related donor–acceptor pyridine-based BF2 complexes, namely, 3-(dimethylamino)-1,1-difluoro-1H-pyrido[1,2-c][1,3,5,2]oxadiazaborinin-9-ium-1-uide, C8H10BF2N3O (1), and 3-{(1E,3E)-4-[4-(dimethylamino)phenyl]buta-1,3-dien-1-yl}-1,1-difluoro-1H-pyrido[1,2-c][1,3,5,2]oxadiazaborinin-9-ium-1-uide, C18H18BF2N3O (2), containing a dimethylamino group and either the shortest (in 1) or the longest (in 2) charge-transfer path known until now in this family of compounds, is presented. Single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis supported by computational investigations shed more light on these systems, indicating, among other aspects, the predominance of C—H...F cont…

Arthrinium phaeospermum , Phoma cladoniicola and Ulocladium consortiale , New Olive Pathogens in Italy

2013

In recent years, leaf necrosis and twig dieback in the olive crop have been detected in Sicily (Italy). In this article, we identify the predominant fungal species associated with symptomatic leaves and twigs, using morphological features and DNA sequencing of the internal transcribed spacer (ITS) region, as Alternaria alternata, Arthrinium phaeospermum, Phoma cladoniicola and Ulocladium consortiale. The pathogenicity of these four species was tested on olive plants cv. Biancolilla. All species were pathogenic on leaves, but only U. consortiale produced cortical lesions on twigs, thus suggesting its main role in the Olea europaea twig dieback. To our knowledge, this is the first report of A…

Eklezjalne cele „Pierwszej mowy o pokoju” Grzegorza z Nazjanzu

2020

Dla mówcy podłożem do przywrócenia pokoju były wspólne idee łączące zwaśnione strony, czyli wiara w jednego Boga, zgodne interpretacje zagadnień trynitarnych i pragnienie jedności. Pokój, o który zabiegał Grzegorz, okazał się wartością jednoczącą wszystkich tworzących społeczność kościelną w …

Biomarker responses by crucian carp () living in a pond of secondary treated pulp mill effluent

1999

Biochemical and histological biomarkers by the adult crucian carp ( Carassius carassius (L.)) living in a biologically treated pulp mill effluent were studied. Enocell pulp mill in Uimaharju, Finland, discharges its effluents through a waste water pond to the River Pielisjoki. This pond harbours an introduced crucian carp population that apparently reproduces on site. The objective of the present study was to measure possible hormonal effects of treated pulp mill effluent on crucian carps living in a wastewater pond. Adult fish were collected for analysis by traps. A reference population was sampled from a small natural pond. Blood and bile samples were taken for analyses of hemoglobin, hem…

Susceptibility to Cry proteins of a SpanishOstrinia nubilalisglasshouse population repeatedly sprayed withBacillus thuringiensisformulations

2013

Ostrinia nubilalis Hubner (Lepidoptera: Crambidae), a major pest of corn in temperate climates, can feed on other crops due to its polyphagous behaviour. In particular, this species became a serious problem in some sweet pepper commercial glasshouses in south-eastern Spain repeatedly sprayed with Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) products to control Spodoptera exigua Hubner (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae). The susceptibility of an O. nubilalis colony established from individuals collected in these Bt-sprayed glasshouses was compared with a reference laboratory colony. Differences in susceptibility between the two colonies to Cry1Aa, Cry1Ab, Cry1Ac and Cry2Aa proteins were found. However, our results ind…

„Człowiek w mocy Ducha Świętego”. Teologiczne założenia pneumatologicznej antropologii Nikosa Angelosa Nissiotisa

2018

Opracowanie stanowi prezentację podstawowych założeń pneumatologicznej antropologii jednego z najwybitniejszych greckich teologów prawosławnych XX w., Nikosa Angelosa Nissiotisa. Antropologia Nissiotisa jest chrystologicznie i pneumatologicznie zorientowana. Nissiotis proponuje, by istotnym paradygmatem interpretacji nauki o stworzeniu człowieka uczynić misterium wcielenia.

Elaboration of a method to categorize substances of interest as regards to their potential endocrine disrupting activity: assessment and categorizati…

2021

EDCs are substances that alter function(s) of the endocrine system and consequently cause adverse health effects. The endocrine system consists of many cells and tissues that interact with each other and the rest of the body by means of hormones. This system is responsible for controlling a large number of processes in the body from gamete formation, to conception and early developmental processes such as organogenesis, and to most tissue and organ functions throughout life. EDCs interfere with endocrine function by many ways and, in doing so, lead to adverse effects on the health of humans and/or wildlife. Some of the observed health effects associated with EDCs include, butare not limited…
