This doctoral dissertation investigates the imagery of Sáminess in contemporary Sámi poetry. The research material of the study consists of poetry collections published in North Sámi and Norwegian by eight Sámi authors: Inger-Mari Aikio (previously Aikio-Arianaick), Inga Ravna Eira, Rawdna Carita Eira, Irene Larsen, Rauni Magga Lukkari, Hege Siri, Nils- Aslak Valkeapää, and Ellen Marie Vars. The emphasis is on poetry published at the turn of the 2010s. The study examines how Sáminess has been depicted and constructed in poetry from the 1980s onwards. Introduction: Post-apartheid South Africa remains highly stratified on variable grounds including race. The 8.9 percent (whites) of the total population has an average income per capita that is five times higher than that of 79.2 percent (blacks). As a response, many conservation efforts foster synergies between cultural and biological diversity agendas through biocultural approaches. Tämän tutkielman tarkoitus on toimia jatkona vuonna 2011 tekemälleni kandidaatintutkielmalleni joulusta Astrid Lindgrenin lastenkirjoissa. Tässä tutkimuksessa olen laajentanut teeman koskemaan muitakin kalenterivuotemme juhlia. Yhtälailla kuin kandidaatintutkielmassani on pro gradu-tutkielmassani tarkoitus tarkastella juhlien ja juhlaperinteiden kuvausta Lindgrenin lastenkirjoissa. Samalla pyrkimyksenä oli nostaa esille sekä kirjojen välillä että kirjojen ja ruotsalaisten juhlaperinteiden välillä esiintyviä yhtäläisyyksiä ja eroavuuksia. From an encyclopedia of Iranian Folklore to an ontology of Iranian folklore

The main resource of the thesis came from 37 years of research work by Ahmad Shamlou, an Iranian poet. The body of research should be transformed from manuscript to digital material. Designing and implementing a semantic ontology for such a folk encyclopedia is a basic and essential part of the thesis. As the material bank is significantly large, semantic marking of the materials in their entirety must be done in a group action and this thesis aims to develop the appropriate framework for the encyclopedia. Turun kaupunkikedot : kytkeytyneisyyden ja ympäristötekijöiden merkitys kasvilajirikkaudelle

Kedot ovat lajistoltaan rikkaita perinnebiotooppeja ja äärimmäisen uhanalaisia elinympäristöjä, joita uhkaa kaupungeissa rakentaminen ja umpeenkasvu. Pro gradu -työssäni selvitin paikallisten ympäristötekijöiden ja maiseman kytkeytyneisyyden yhteyttä hoitamattomien kaupunkiketojen putkilokasvi- ja sammallajirikkauteen. Kartoitin 33 tutkimuskedolta putkilokasvi- ja sammallajiston ja mittasin ympäristötekijöitä maastossa ja paikkatieto-ohjelman avulla, tutkimusruudun ja kedon mittakaavalla. Tilastollisissa analyyseissä käytin yleistettyjä lineaarisia malleja. Tulosten perusteella putkilokasvien lajimäärää selittivät kedon koko, kaltevuus, kallioisuus, paahteisuus ja maaperän happamuus.
