Early algebra is a phase that could fit the gap between arithmetic and algebra. Early algebra includes algebraic reasoning, such as analyzing relationships between quantities, noticing structure, studying change, or generalizing, without a need to use symbols. Current agri-environmental policies dismiss varied perceptions and discourses on management of traditional rural biotopes

Abstract Traditional rural biotopes (TRBs) are threatened habitats that host significant biodiversity and several ecosystem services, and depend on active management such as low-intensity grazing. The current study explores private landowners’ decision-making on TRB management and abandonment within a social-ecological system framework. We provide insight into supporting resilience of TRB systems in the face of agricultural modernization. Using a mixed methods approach with content analysis and Q analysis, we demonstrate that TRB management fosters cultural, biological, aesthetic, and utilitarian values. This chapter examines the role of women icon painters in the Finnish Orthodox Church in the second half of the twentieth century. The 1960s witnessed the entry of women professionals into the fields of icon production and related research in Finland. The new role of women as iconographers and icon scholars highlighted the unchallenged division between official and unofficial Orthodoxy as, before, the public representatives and spokespersons of Orthodoxy had been clerics. Maatalouden ympäristötukijärjestelmään kuuluvien perinnebiotooppien hoidon kustannukset Keski-Suomessa

Perinnebiotoopit ovat perinteisen karjatalouden synnyttämiä monimuotoisia niittyjä ja puustoisia luonnonlaitumia, joita ylläpitää niitto tai laidunnus. Perinnebiotooppien määrä on vähentynyt rajusti maatalouden tehostumisen myötä. Merkittävin uhanalaistumisen syy on perinnebiotooppien umpeenkasvu laidunnuksen ja niiton loputtua, mutta myös pellonraivaus ja metsittäminen ovat hävittäneet perinnebiotooppeja runsaasti. Perinnebiotooppien hoitomenetelmät perustuvat niittoon ja laidunnukseen sekä tarvittaessa alkuraivaukseen. Perinnebiotooppien hoitoon voi saada maatalouden ympäristökorvausta.
