Sustainability of local farming systems and technologies is a very important issue that faces notorious measurement difficulties. Multi-criteria methods may help researchers to solve empirical problems in the construction of composite sustainability indicators and in ranking agricultural technologies according to their sustainability. This paper shows how a multi-criteria decision-making technique, the Analytic Network Process (ANP), can be fruitfully employed to this end. This research examined gendered positioning in therapeutic conversations, especially in treatment of intimate partner violence (IPV). A feminist-informed reading combined with a discursive psychological approach was applied in three studies on positioning in therapeutic conversations. This reading focused on gendered positioning, gendered power and cultural discourses. Thus, the aim of this research was to examine how gender is constructed in therapeutic conversations that deal with couple relationship issues, and how the power distribution this entails is addressed in these conversations. W artykule przedstawiono alternatywny sposób pracy nad umiejętnością pisania w języku obcym, ukierunkowany nie tylko na czynne przyswojenie wzorców tekstowych właściwych dla danej społeczności językowo-kulturowej oraz uaktywnianie struktur językowych (gramatycznych, leksykalnych), ale także na doskonalenie kompetencji lingwistycznej. Technical and economical comparison between NdFeB and hard ferrites linear electrical generators from sea waves

In this paper the authors perform a technical-economic comparison of two different Tubular Permanent Magnet Linear Machines for sea waves generation by using finite elements analysis. The first configuration includes ferrite rings while the second configuration includes neodymium-iron-boron rings. In order to compare the two types in economic and technical terms, a detailed analysis of the main figures of merit of the two configurations has been carried out. In particular, significant data such as flux distribution, rated voltage and current, axial force, electric power, realization cost and maintenance cost have been compared.

Nervu sistēma (NS) regulē ķermeņa orgānu un sistēmas saskaņotu darbošanos, tā nodrošinot ķermeņa funkcionēšanu un reaģēšanu uz apkārtējās vides iedarbību. Darba mērķis ir izanalizēt NS traucējumu ārstēšanai paredzēto homeopātisko zāļu apriti SIA “Homeopātija” Homeopātiskajā aptiekā, Rīgā, Lāčplēša ielā 7 2015. un 2016. gadā. Autores iegūtie dati liecina, ka NS traucējumu ārstēšanai ir iespējams iegādāties 22 veida homeopātiskās zāles, no kurām 13 gatavo SIA “Homeopātija”. Autore secināja, ka 2015. gadā NS traucējumu ārstēšanai tika pārdoti 8279 homeopātisko zāļu iepakojumi. Objectives Increasing evidence suggests that inflammation has a detrimental effect on muscle strength. Our objective was to analyse the association between muscle performance and different disease activity levels in patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA). Method A total of 199 consecutive outpatients were subject to cross-sectional assessment. Measurements of grip strength, endurance of the upper and lower limbs and trunk strength were combined as a muscle performance composite score (MPCS), using a standardised method.
