Bond graph modeling and simulation of wind turbine systems

2013

Published version of an article in the journal: Journal of Mechanical Science and Technology. Also available from the publisher at: http://dx.doi.org/10.1007/s12206-013-0435-x This paper addresses the problem of bond graph methodology as a graphical approach for the modeling of wind turbine generating systems. The purpose of this paper is to show some of the benefits the bond graph approach has, in contributing a model for wind turbine systems. We will present a nonlinear model of a wind turbine generating system, containing blade pitch, drive train, tower motion and generator. All which will be modeled by means of bond graph. We will especially focus on the drive train, and show the differ…

Exilic/Idyllic Shakespeare: Reiterating Pericles in Jacques Rivette’s Paris nous appartient

2015

Jacques Rivette’s Paris nous appartient (1961) is about a literature student, Anne Goupil, who becomes involved with a group of bohemians centering around the absent figure of Spanish musician, Juan. The film incorporates the attempt by theatre director Gérard Lenz – in many ways a simulacrum of Rivette himself – to stage Pericles, even though this is a play that he himself defines as “incoherent” and “unplayable.” This essay explores the significance of this incorporation, and shows how the reiterated, fragmentary rehearsals of this “unplayable” play are essential to an understanding of the (disjointed) logic of the film as well as the atmosphere of conspiracy it continually evokes. It als…

STUDIO NUMERICO-SPERIMENTALE DI GIUNZIONI IBRIDE A DOPPIA SOVRAPPOSIZIONE CFRP-ALLUMINIO

2013

The adhesively bonded joints and the mechanical joints between structural components made by composite materials or between elements made by composite and metal, are commonly used in different fields of modern industrial design and manufacturing, since they are characterized by economy, reliability and ease of assembly. The bonded joints are characterized by high stiffness and fatigue life, although delamination phenomena localized near the edges of attack of the adherends may limit their use, especially in particular applications where corrosive environments and humidity can lead to premature failure. In these cases, a possible alternative is offered by the well known riveted joints. On th…

Mechatronic Design of a Four-Wheel drive mobile robot and differential steering

2021

This paper presents, the development of an autonomous mobile robot with a four-wheel drive and differential locomotion. The mobile robot was developed in the Machines and Industrial Equipment Department from the Engineering Faculty of Sibiu. The main purpose of developing this type of mobile platform was the ability to transport different types of cargo either in industrial spaces or on rough terrain. Another important objective was that this platform could be driven in confined or tight spaces where a high degree of manoeuvrability is necessary. The great advantage of this type of mobile platform is the ability to navigate through narrow spaces due to the type of locomotion implemented. Th…

Numerical experimental analysis of hybrid double lap aluminum-CFRP joints

2015

Abstract Due to their reliability and ease of assembly, both the adhesively bonded and the mechanical joints are commonly used in different fields of modern industrial design and manufacturing, to joint composite materials or composites with metals. As it is well known, adhesively bonded joints are characterized by high stiffness and good fatigue life, although delamination phenomena localized near the free edges may limit their use, especially for applications where corrosive environments and/or moisture can lead to premature failure of the bonding. In these cases, a possible alternative is given by the well-known mechanical joints. On the contrary, these last joints (bolted, riveted) requ…
