Abstract Background Mitoxantrone (MX) has been used as second line therapy for aggressive multiple sclerosis (MS). Potential cardiotoxic effects of MX limit its use; a cumulative dose of up to 100 mg/m2, has been long considered relatively safe. The contribution of area 19 to pattern discrimination in the cat was studied by single cell recordings in this area and by behavioural experiments before and after bilateral lesions. In order to make quantitative comparisons between behavioural performance and that of cell systems, we introduced a new parameter that characterizes visual neurons by their signal-to-noise (S/N) thresholds. AbstractOptimal pre-participative screening in young athletes is still controversial. We sought to evaluate the strategy of including point-of-care ultrasound to electrocardiogram. In total, 1188 young competitive athletes were screened in different sports institutions. This proved to be a useful strategy by improving diagnostic performance primarily with respect to detect structural abnormalities and also by minimising positive false cases of electrocardiogram alone.
