Predictive Factors of Health Discharge Outcomes for Colorectal Cancer Patients in a Romanian Hospital

Abstract In-hospital data on colorectal cancer from Romania demonstrate differences from other European countries, especially in the mean age of patients, discharge rates and length of stay. Our study aimed to investigate possible factors that could predict the health outcomes at the discharge of colorectal cancer patients hospitalized in a Romanian county hospital. Abstract This research evaluates if the voices of children in Romanian preschools are heard and proposes new educational policy in order to train practitioners for preschools. The purpose of the study is to involve practitioners and parents in the Early Years in an experimental training program called: “Voices of children in Romania”. We discovered that according to the traditional attitudes of Romanian parents and practitioners, children's voices are rarely taken into consideration. After the new training program was put into practice in preschools and homes, teachers and parents started to give more attention to children's voices and children's wellbeing was improved.

Like Parents, like Teenagers: A Romanian Youth Smoking Overview

AbstractThis paper estimates how family model influences youth's smoking behaviors and describes smoking behavior in Romania nowadays. A questionnaire-based survey was used and data was collected from a national sample (1,364 people: 536 male and 828 female; average age 22,71 years and SD=3,128). The paper analyses only the items relevant for smoking behavior.Using a quasi-experimental design, we found a significant difference determinated by father's model (ρ(1364)= 0,158, p < 0,05), mother's model (ρ(1362)=0,155, p < 0,05), and brothers/sisters’ model (ρ(1362)=0,219, p < 0,05), regarding smoking behavior.Keywords: smoking behaviour, Romanian teenagers, parental model, Health Psychology

Religious Diaspora: A New Approach to Its Existence and Meaning

The present study aims to contribute to the discussion regarding the possibility of conceptualizing a religious diaspora. It proposes a new way of defining it, namely in relation to religious and not to ethno-territorial realities, but without editing the territorial dimension out. After sketching the definition on this theoretical basis, the study refers to six case studies, pointing to the way in which the definitory traits of a religious diaspora are actualized in each situation under study.
