Updated checklist and distribution of the inland-water calanoid copepods (Copepoda: Calanoida) of Romania

No recent studies on the distribution of calanoid copepods in Romanian inlandwaters are available. During a long-term survey aimed at large branchiopods, we collected two diaptomid species that are new for the fauna of the country, and supplemented the available data on the distribution of other calanoid species with new records. As already observed in the case of large branchiopods, the habitats of the mountain basins of the Eastern Carpathians seem to be characterized by a quite distinct species assemblage. Taxation in Romania – Some Positive Aspects

Abstract The field of taxation is often a subject of analysis, due to its importance for the formation and administration of public financial resources. By taking into account the local, national and international size of taxation, may be thus identified strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. Although the taxation in Romania is often criticized both by taxpayers and by specialists, there is a progress in taxation field as a result of actions taken in forming and managing fiscal revenues. Without claiming an exhaustive approach, through this article we mention some positive aspects of Romanian taxation. We believe that these should be consolidated and continued.

Abstract The economic growth that has occurred in post-communist Romania has polarised society and greatly increased existing inequalities. The aim of this paper is to investigate regional disparities, to underline the role of governmental mechanisms in smoothing out territorial inequalities, and to examine the possible effects of regional economic disparities on the performance of regional administrations in delivering public services, in the light of the new regionalisation debate. This paper examines the dynamics of sector concentration in Romania starting from two basic questions: how concentrated the economic activities are and what factors determine the economic concentration. The lack of availability of concentration ratio series for Romanian economy has limited the research in this field. The paper reports the concentration ratios dynamics in Romania during the period 1996–2004, looking at the differences between industries and offers some possible explanations. My research goal is to identify the most important section of CIF imports during the analyzed period and the main structural modifications in evolution of the Romanian imports. Benchmarking is a managerial tool that can assist the organizational change and the innovation. The paper aims to discover the degree in which Romanian managers in various industrial fields use this modern tool in the improvement of business strategy or organizational processes. In this context, we presented some results of a selective research made in Romanian industrial environment.
