The Scope of Zinc Oxide Bulk Growth
2005
The techniques classically used for the growth of bulk ZnO crystals, melt-growth, vapour growth, solution-growth and hydrothermal growth, are reviewed. In the case of vapor growth, numerical simulations suggest that such species as H2 + H2O, CH4, Zn, C or Fe could act as sublimation activators. The electrical and structural properties of crystals obtained by these various techniques are compared.
FI-chemiluminometric study of thiazides by on-line photochemical reaction
2004
The present manuscript deals with a simple and sensitive flow-injection method for the chemiluminescent determination of thiazides. The method is based on the on-line photodegradation and chemiluminescent determination of the resulting photo-fragments. The on-line photodegradation is performed in basic medium by using a photoreactor consisting of a 550 cm long x 0.8 mm ID piece of PTFE tubing helically coiled around an 8 W low-pressure mercury lamp. The determination of the photo-irradiated thiazides is performed by a chemiluminescent oxidative reaction with Ce(IV) in sulphuric acid medium. A heterogeneous group of thiazides (indapamide, metolazone, hydroflumethiazide, chlorthalidone and be…
Functionalized Fe3O4 nanoparticles: influence of ligand addition sequence and pH during their continuous hydrothermal synthesis
2015
In this study we report various new efficient ways to synthesize and modify in situ magnetite (Fe3O4) iron oxide nanoparticles (NPs). Thanks to an apparatus especially developed for this new method of grafting, the NPs have been synthesized and functionalized by 3,4-dihydroxyhydrocinnamic acid (DHCA) or 3,4-dihydroxy-L-phenylalanine (LDOPA) in one step and under hydrothermal conditions using varying concentration ratios ([organic molecules]/[ferrous and ferric ions]). The organic molecules were added before or after the NP synthesis. The addition of these organic molecules modifies the structure, the morphology, the oxidation degree and the growth of the crystallites. Adding the organic mol…
Selective oxidation of ethane: Developing an orthorhombic phase in Mo–V–X (X=Nb, Sb, Te) mixed oxides
2009
Abstract Mo–V–X (X = Nb, Sb and/or Te) mixed oxides have been prepared by hydrothermal synthesis and heat-treated in N2 at 450 °C or 600 °C for 2 h. The calcination temperature and the presence or absence of Nb determines the nature of crystalline phases in the catalyst. Nb-containing catalysts heat-treated at 450 °C are mostly amorphous solids, while Nb-free catalysts heat-treated at 450 °C and samples treated at 600 °C clearly contain crystalline phases. TPR-H2 experiments show higher H2-consumption on catalysts with amorphous phases. Catalytic results in the oxidative dehydrogenation of ethane indicate that the selective production of the olefin is strongly related to the development of …
Evaluation of the Stability of Pure Silica MCM-41 toward Water Vapor
1999
Water vapor adsorption/desorption isotherms at 298 K and XRD measurements and nitrogen isotherms at 77 K before and after exposure to water vapor were determined on pure silica MCM-41 samples; samples had different pore widths and were prepared by different synthesis methods, including hydrothermal and room-temperature procedures. It was found that prolonged exposure to water vapor provoked structural alterations in all of the MCM-41 materials studied, the most significant effects being a loss of pore shape uniformity and a large decrease in pore size and, in consequence, pore volume. Analysis of the results suggests that these alterations are due to expansion of the pore walls as well as, …
Synthesis, crystal structure, and magnetic characterization of the three-dimensional compound [Co2(cbut)(H2O) 3]n (H4cbut = 1,2,3,4- cyclobutanetetra…
2014
A novel cobalt(II) complex of formula [Co2(cbut)(H 2O)3]n (1) (H4cbut = 1,2,3,4-cyclobutanetetracarboxylic acid) has been synthesized under hydrothermal conditions and its crystal structure has been determined by means of synchrotron radiation and neutron powder diffraction. The crystal structure of 1 consists of layers of cobalt(II) ions extending in the bc-plane which are pillared along the crystallographic a-axis through the skeleton of the cbut 4- ligand. Three crystallographically independent cobalt(II) ions [Co(1), Co(2), and Co(3)] occur in 1. They are all six-coordinate with four carboxylate-oxygens [Co(1)-Co(3)] and two cis-[Co(1)] or trans-water molecules [Co(2) and Co(3)] buildin…
Cu-exchanged Al-rich SSZ-13 zeolite from organotemplate-free synthesis as NH3-SCR catalyst: Effects of Na+ ions on the activity and hydrothermal stab…
2017
Abstract The relatively low activity at lower temperatures and high cost of SSZ-13 zeolite from organotemplate synthesis are two of major problems of presently commercialized Cu-SSZ-13 catalysts for NH3-SCR reaction. Cu-exchanged Al-rich SSZ-13 catalysts with Si/Al = 4 from organotemplate-free synthesis have been prepared, and show superior NH3-SCR performance with NO conversions above 85% at wide-temperature window ranging from 150 to 650 °C. Cu-Na-SSZ-13 catalysts with varied amount of residual Na+ were prepared by partial ion-exchange of as-prepared Al-rich Na-SSZ-13, and it’s found that Cu-Na-SSZ-13 catalyst with moderate Na+ content can improve both the low-temperature activity and its…
Characterization of MCM-48 Materials
2000
Mesoporous molecular sieves of MCM-48 type were prepared by conventional hydrothermal and novel room temperature syntheses. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) studies have shown that nonagglomerate...
Synthesis and crystal structure of α-NH4(VO2)(HPO4)
1992
Abstract Hydrothermal synthesis starting from β-NH 4 (VO 2 )(HPO 4 ) leads to α-NH 4 (VO 2 )(HPO 4 ): orthorhombic, space group Pb 2 1 a ; Z = 4; a = 6.830(1) A, b = 9.233(2) A, c = 8.817(2) A; R = 0.037 for 3371 reflections. NH + 4 cations connect isolated chains of trans -corner sharing VO 5 square pyramids running along the a -axis. The a -phase transforms irreversibly into the β-form by heating near 200°C. Comparison is made between the two phases.
Synthèses optimisées et caractérisations avancées de nanotubes de titanate et de leurs fonctionnalisations : vers l'élaboration de nanovecteurs de mo…
2017
The aim of this PhD thesis is to develop new nanohybrids based on titanate nanotubes (TiONts) in order to use them as nanocarrier of a therapeutic molecule: a stilbene phenol, 4'-hydroxy-4-(3-aminopropoxy)-trans-stilbene (HAPtS), which is a transresveratrol derivative.TiONts are synthesized by a hydrothermal treatment from a precursor of rutile titanium dioxide. Two methods of hydrothermal synthesis have been studied (the static and dynamic ones): the second approach uses an original hydrothermal device which provides a vigorous mechanical stirring during the hydrothermal process with controllable stirring time par hour. A parametric study was carried out to evaluate the effect of reaction …
