Abstract Objective In the past decade, a number of trials have been conducted to determine the optimal strategy of weaning premature infants from nasal continuous airway pressure (nCPAP). However, a paucity of information exists on how weaning is actually performed in clinical routine. Theranostic applications with radio-isotopes currently are rapidly progressing and expand nuclear medicine application in clinical routine. Alpha emitting isotopes, in particular, have long been hypothesized to achieve relevant advances for the treatment of malignancies. Here, an overview of their properties and the knowledge of radiobiology is reviewed in view of clinical translation. This study aims at evaluating the prevalence of left ventricular diastolic dysfunction in a group of 319 hypertensive patients with stage 3b–4–5 chronic kidney disease (according to Kidney Disease Improving Global Outcomes classification), compared with 216 patients with essential hypertension and normal renal function. Abstract The hydrogenation of 2,4-dinitro-toluene on a Pd/C catalyst was employed as a test reaction to simulate, by the time-dependent Monte Carlo method, processes occurring in a three-phase batch reactor working at isobar and isotherm conditions. A sensitive and selective liquid chromatography-triple quadrupole-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-ESI-MS-MS) method was developed for the routine analysis of aflatoxins (AFB(1), AFB(2), AFG(1) and AFG(2)) and ochratoxin A (OTA) in tiger nuts and tiger-nut beverage (horchata). A matrix solid phase dispersion was adapted to eliminate lipidic interferences. The solid support was C(18), while the elution solvent was acetonitrile.
