Daily Peak Temperature Forecasting with Elman Neural Networks
2005
This work presents a forecaster based on an Elman artificial neural network trained with resilient backpropagation algorithm for predicting the daily peak temperatures one day ahead. The available time series was recorded at Petrosino (TP), in the west coast of Sicily, Italy and it is composed by temperature (min and max values), the humidity (min and max values) and the rainfall value between January 1st, 1995 and May 14th, 2003. Performances and reliabilities of the proposed model were evaluated by a number of measures, comparing different neural models. Experimental results show very good prediction performances.
Displacement of phenprocoumon (Marcumar) from albumin by sulfonylurea compounds, suramin, and ioglycamic acid.
1972
The technique of Sephadex gel filtration was employed to characterize the effect of some sulfonylurea compounds, ioglycamic acid, and suramin on the binding of phenprocoumon to bovine serum albumin.

Hamiltonian tools for the analysis of optical polarization control
2011
Import JabRef; International audience; The study of the polarization dynamics of two counterpropagating beams in optical fibers has recently been the subject of a growing renewed interest, from both the theoretical and experimental points of view. This system exhibits a phenomenon of polarization attraction, which can be used to achieve a complete polarization of an initially unpolarized signal beam, almost without any loss of energy. Along the same way, an arbitrary polarization state of the signal beam can be controlled and converted into any other desired state of polarization, by adjusting the polarization state of the counterpropagating pump beam. These properties have been demonstrate…

Poli(ēterēterketona)-alkilimidazolija jonu šķidrumu kompozīto membrānu mehānisko īpašību un elektrovadītspējas pētīšana. Sprūģis E., zinātniskais vadītājs Dr. chem., doc. Vaivars G. Maģistra darbs, 40 lappuses, 30 attēli, 1 tabula, 38 literatūras avoti. Latviešu valodā. Darbā tika veikta mehānisko īpašību analīze temperatūru intervālā no 20 °C līdz 200 °C sekojošām kompozītmembrānām: sulfonēta poli(ēterēter)ketona (SPĒĒK)-1,3-dimetilimidazolija dimetilfosfāts, SPĒĒK-1,2,3-trimetilimidazolija dimetilfosfāts, SPĒĒK-1-butil-2,3-dimetilimidazolija dimetilfosfāts. Intervālā no 30 °C līdz 150 °C sekojošām kompozītmembrānām tika veikta elektrovadītspējas pētīšana, izmantojot elektroķīmiskās impeda…
Counter-propagating difference frequency mixing in diamond with terahertz waves
2013
We investigate four-wave mixing between terahertz and optical pulses in diamond. We observe the occurrence of sum and difference frequency generation, with the latter being phase-matched for terahertz pulses counter-propagating to the optical field.
Counter-propagating frequency mixing with Terahertz waves in diamond
2013
Frequency conversion by means of Kerr nonlinearity is one of the most common and exploited nonlinear optical processes in the UV, visible, IR, and mid-IR spectral regions. Here we show that wave mixing of an optical field and a terahertz wave can be achieved in diamond, resulting in the frequency conversion of the terahertz radiation either by sum- or difference-frequency generation. In the latter case, we show that this process is phase matched and most efficient in a counterpropagating geometry.
