El siguiente trabajo tiene como intención mostrar la realidad social de las mujeres búlgaras que residen en un municipio de la comunidad Valenciana, Enguera, en el que más del 25% de la población es de nacionalidad búlgara. Para comprender los procesos sociales se ha recurrido a la investigación cualitativa, comprobándose el impacto social de las migraciones en el contexto rural.

Desde la investigación que estamos desarrollando en ScienceFlows, hemos trabajado con dos mecanismos de participación ciudadana en ciencia y tecnología. Por una parte, la Consulta Ciudadana (a través del proyecto europeo CONCISE) y por la otra parte, a través de la Science Shop de ScienceFlows. Los resultados obtenidos con ambos mecanismos de participación, consideramos que son de gran valor social, tanto para la transferencia del conocimiento a la sociedad como por su posible implementación en políticas públicas. The aim of this cross-sectional study was to analyze selected variables differentiating rural from urban populations, as well as identify potentially increased levels of depression and anxiety in patients with chronic cardiovascular disease. The study was carried out in 193 patients. The study used the Camberwell Assessment of Need Short Appraisal Schedule (CANSAS), the Health Behavior Inventory Questionnaire (HBI), the WHOQOL-BREF Quality of Life Questionnaire, and the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale–Modified Version (HADS-M). In this paper we develop a relatively simple but general model describing the formation of urban agglomerations in a pre-industrial setting. Rural agglomeration on a local scale arises from the multiplication and specialization of intermediate goods and labor services, while dispersion is due to the commuting costs of agricultural workers. Urban agglomeration on a more global scale stems from the trade-off between increasing returns to scale and transport costs of goods.
