Synthetic Endeavors toward Titanium Based Frustrated Lewis Pairs with Controlled Electronic and Steric Properties

A new family of cationic Ti complexes 4′ with a pendant phosphine of general formula [CpCpPTiOAr][BPh4] (Cp = η5-C5H5; CpP = η5-C5H4(CMe2)PR2) has been prepared in four steps from 6,6-dimethylfulvene. These complexes were designed to behave as Ti based frustrated Lewis pairs (FLPs). The key synthetic step is a reduction–oxidation sequence from [CpCpPTiClOAr] complexes 3 using lithium phosphide salts as the reductants and ferricinium tetraphenylborate as the oxidant. ‘You really are a great big sister’ – parasocial relationships, credibility, and the moderating role of audience comments in influencer marketing

This study examines the moderating role of audience comments in influencer marketing. A YouTube vlog entry by a social media influencer featuring the endorsement of a brand was studied, and an experimental design featuring two conditions related to audience comments was created. The results indicate that a parasocial relationship with the influencer builds the perceived credibility of the influencer, while comments by other audience members moderate the effect. Influencer credibility positively affects brand trust and purchase intention. The findings enhance the understanding of the role of an active audience in influencer marketing. peerReviewed

Stress generation at ridge axes by plate divergence and magma rise

Abstract A model is explored for the rifting process particularly at the divergent plate boundary in Iceland, based on direct observations of the Krafla rifting episode 1975–1984. Magma accumulates near the axial crust-mantle transition as the plates diverge from each other and compression on the boundary decreases. Two-dimensional finite-element modelling is applied to investigate how divergence and buoyant rise of magma interact in triggering rifting. Both processes are found to be important, but long intervals between rifting episodes require the time-average deviatoric stress to be compressible normal to the axis.

Lattice-particle simulation of stress patterns in a Rwenzori-type rift transfer zone

Abstract A new 3D spring lattice computer model has been developed and used to calculate the stress-field in the vicinity of a rift transfer zone. The numerical setup is based on the Rwenzori block, a transfer zone in the Western Branch of the East African Rift Valley. The study has two closely related, yet independent aims: primarily to gain insight into the pattern and the causes of the stress field in the Rwenzori area. The second aim is the evaluation of the model itself, based on a comparison of the model results with local geological structures.
