Il Castello Maniace di Siracusa. Stereotomia e tecniche costruttive nell’architettura del Mediterraneo

2011

Photoactivation of Anticancer Ru Complexes in Deep Tissue: How Deep Can We Go?

2017

Activation of anticancer therapeutics such as ruthenium (Ru) complexes is currently a topic of intense investigation. The success of phototherapy relies on photoactivation of therapeutics after the light passes through skin and tissue. In this paper, the photoactivation of anticancer Ru complexes with 671-nm red light through tissue of different thicknesses was studied. Four photoactivatable Ru complexes with different absorption wavelengths were synthesized. Two of them (Ru3 and Ru4) were responsive to wavelengths in the “therapeutic window” (650–900 nm) and could be activated using 671-nm red light after passing through tissue up to 16-mm-thick. The other two (Ru1 and Ru2) could not be ac…

Design of enzyme-mediated controlled release systems based on silica mesoporous supports capped with ester-glycol groups

2012

[EN] An ethylene glycol-capped hybrid material for the controlled release of molecules in the presence of esterase enzyme has been prepared. The final organic-inorganic hybrid solid S1 was synthesized by a two-step procedure. In the first step, the pores of an inorganic MCM-41 support (in the form of nanoparticles) were loaded with [Ru(bipy) 3]Cl 2 complex, and then, in the second step, the pore outlets were functionalized with ester glycol moieties that acted as molecular caps. In the absence of an enzyme, release of the complex from aqueous suspensions of S1 at pH 8.0 is inhibited due to the steric hindrance imposed by the bulky ester glycol moieties. Upon addition of esterase enzyme, del…

2016

One of the most eminent figures of Arthurian literature, renowned in the Middle Ages as in later periods, Merlin remains however a polymorphous and contradictory character. A study focusing on two aspects will allow us to perceive his ambiguities and to form the poetics of the character. Firstly, from a relational perspective, the bestiary, that is to say the literary fauna, constitutes an element of this definition. In Prose Merlin’s retrospective prose sequels (the “Vulgate” Suite, the “Post-Vulgate” Suite and the Livre d’Artus), romances which constitute the apex of thirteenth century Arthurian texts in prose, this relation axis encounters an intertextual perspective. By its extent and i…

cis-Aquabis[bis(diphenylphosphino)ethane-κ2 P,P′]chlororuthenium(II) hexafluorophosphate dichloromethane sesquisolvate hemihydrate

2006

In the title compound, [RuCl(C26H24P)2(H2O)]PF6·1.5CH2Cl2·0.5H2O, the complex RuII cation is in a slightly distorted octahedral environment, chelated by two bis(diphenylphosphino)ethane ligands, with a water molecule and a chloride anion in a mutually cis geometry completing the coordination.

Trans-dicyanobis(acetylacetonato)ruthenate(III) as a precursor to build novel cyanide-bridged RuIII–MII bimetallic compounds [M=Co and Ni]

2006

Abstract The use of the mononuclear complex trans-[Ru(acac)2(CN)2]− as a ligand towards the preformed species [Ni2L(H2O)2Cl2], [Co(dmphen)](NO3)2, [Ni(dmphen)](NO3)2 and [Co(H2O)6](NO3)2 afforded the novel cyanide-bridged bimetallic compounds of formula [{Ru(acac)2(CN)2}{Ni2(L)(H2O)2}]{Ru(acac)2(CN)2}·2H2O (1), [{Ru(acac)2(CN)2}{Co(dmphen)(NO3)}]·H2O (2) and [{Ru(acac)2(CN)2}{Ni(dmphen)(NO3)}]·H2O (3) and [{Ru(acac)2(CN)2}2Co] (4) [Hacac = acetylacetone, dmphen = 2,9-dimethylphenanthroline and H2L = 11,23-dimethyl-3,7,15,19-tetrazatricyclo[19.3.1.19,13]hexacosa-2,7,9,11,13(26),14,19,21(25),22,24-decaene-25,26-diol]. Synthesis, reactivity and structures of ruthenium carbonyl clusters with telluride and hydride ligands

2002

The reaction of [Cp* 2 Nb(Te 2 H)] ( 1 ) (Cp*=C 5 Me 5 ) with [Ru 3 (CO) 12 ] in boiling toluene gave [Ru 3 (μ 2 -H) 2 (CO) 9 (μ 3 -Te)] ( 2 ), [Ru 6 (μ 3 -H)(CO) 15 (μ 3 -Te) 3 ][Cp* 2 Nb(CO) 2 ] ( 3 ) and [Ru 5 (μ 2 -H)(CO) 14 (μ 4 -Te)][Cp* 2 Nb(CO) 2 ] ( 4 ) along with already known [Ru 4 (CO) 11 (μ 4 -Te) 2 ] ( 5 ). Complexes 2 – 4 were analytically and spectroscopically characterized and X-ray diffraction analyses of 3 and 4 were carried out. The anion of 3 is built up of a triangular hexametallic core of C 3 v symmetry, in which the central Ru 3 triangle, being bridged by a μ 3 -H ligand, is composed of three corner-linked Ru 3 Te tetrahedra. The main structural feature of the anion …

Impact of the synergistic collaboration of oligothiophene bridges and ruthenium complexes on the optical properties of dumbbell-shaped compounds.

2012

The linear and non-linear optical properties of a family of dumbbell-shaped dinuclear complexes, in which an oligothiophene chain with various numbers of rings (1, 3, and 6) acts as a bridge between two homoleptic tris(2,2'-bipyridine)ruthenium(II) complexes, have been fully investigated by using a range of spectroscopic techniques (absorption and luminescence, transient absorption, Raman, and non-linear absorption), together with density functional theory calculations. Our results shed light on the impact of the synergistic collaboration between the electronic structures of the two chemical moieties on the optical properties of these materials. Experiments on the linear optical properties …
