Networks and health care systems
1996
The network concept has been successful in the economic littérature and in the health care economics littérature. However the network concept is not easy to define. In the first part, this paper suggests a framework for network conceptions analysis :first, network can be conceived as a structure of economic organisation (such as infrastructure networks), or as a coordination mode, alternative and different from market or hierarchy coordination. In the second part, this paper analyses recent mutations in the health care system (such as cooperation relationships between several hospitals and private clinics, networks between hospitals and ambulatory medical care...) from the network concept a…
Protein-Matrix Coupling in MbCO embedded in saccharide matrices

MbCo in Saccharide Solid Amorphous Systems: A Combined FTIR and SAXS Study
2011
Saccharides, and in particular trehalose, are known for their efficiency in protecting biostructures against environmental stress [1], although the preservation mechanism is still debated. Experiments and simulations [2,3] on carboxy-myoglobin (MbCO) showed that the protein dynamics is highly inhibited in dry trehalose matrices, the inhibition being dependent on the water content. In these conditions, a mutual protein-matrix structural and dynamic influence is observed. Here we report a combined FTIR and SAXS study on MbCO embedded in dry amorphous matrices of trehalose and sucrose. FTIR measurements were performed at different protein/sugar ratios, focussing on the stretching band of the bo…

Role of Solvent on Protein-Matrix Coupling in MbCO Embedded in Water-Saccharide Systems: an FTIR study.
2006
Embedding protein in sugar systems of low water content enables one to investigate the protein dynamicstructure function in matrixes whose rigidity is modulated by varying the content of residual water. Accordingly, studying the dynamics and structure thermal evolution of a protein in sugar systems of different hydration constitutes a tool for disentangling solvent rigidity from temperature effects. Furthermore, studies performed using different sugars may give information on how the detailed composition of the surrounding solvent affects the internal protein dynamics and structural evolution. In this work, we compare Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy measurements (300–20 K) on MbCO e…
Genome Characterization of natural Saccharomyces hybrids of biotechnological interest
2012
At present, the genus Saccharomyces comprises seven species according to their patterns of breeding. The species boundaries are not clear due to the description of several reticulate events due to introgression and hybridization. In the last decade, new natural hybrids have been described in wine and brewing, such as S. cerevisiae x S. kudriavzevii. Due to new practices in wine and beer production, together with consequences in grape properties due to climatic change, led biotechnological companies to search for new yeast strains. In this context, hybrids have become of importance to biotechnological industries because they show good fermentative performance at low temperatures and produce …
Molecular basis of amino acid metabolism of natural and industrialn Saccharomyces isolates
2022
Esta tesis doctoral está enmarcada en el proyecto europeo AROMAGENESIS (ID: 764364) titulado “Generation of new yeast strains for improved flavours and aromas in beer and wine”.
