La courte campagne archéologique de 2010 avait pour objet un certain nombre de vérifications et de relevés préparant la synthèse finale. À la suite de cette intervention, les nouveaux éléments sur le terrain se situent essentiellement au nord. This study emphasises the cosmic dimensions of the Church understood as the Throne of God, analysing its understanding in this way by the great writers and thinkers of the ancient world, for example, Philo the Alexandrine, Saint Dionysius the Areopagite and Saint Irene of Lyon. This article consists of two chapters. The first one presents an outline of the history of the convent in Czarnowąsy and objects of historical value situated therein. In the second chapter, the author mentions several issues related to the convent (which used to belong to the Norbertines) that still offer open fields for studies: the historical value of the short story “Uparte mniszki” by Zofia Kossak; Paweł Szotarewicz’s dedication to Baltazar Gerbert, the architect of the so-called House of Nuns; and the hypothetical visit of the then 29-year-old King Frederick the Great to this “House of God”.
Symptomatic bodies: reading and writing the odor of sanctity in French culture (1868-1901)

Using examples from novels by the Goncourt brothers, Huysmans, Zola and Lemonnier, this paper explores the literary representation of the odor of sanctity in regard to the main epistemological discourses of the second half of the 19th century. In this deeply anticlerical intellectual context, the Christian myth of the odor of sanctity is analyzed by medical professionals and scientists as a pathological phenomenon. Although taking into account the divergent aesthetics of the selected authors, the study focuses mostly on the ambiguity literary texts maintain between the unspeakable experience of religious ecstasy and a symptomatic vision of the body.

En la Edad Moderna la religión impregnaba la vida cotidiana, y los santos eran personajes comunes a los que recurrir en caso de necesidad. Las hagiografías, desde el ámbito oficial, difundían la fama de estas figuras, pero también había una notable circulación oral y escrita de literatura popular religiosa (sobre todo pliegos de cordel y gozos) que los daba a conocer en todos los ámbitos sociales.
