Affective temperaments in tango dancers.

Background: Links between affective temperaments and folk culture have been infrequently explored systematically. Creativity and personality and temperament studies, conversely, have reported several associations. Tango is one of the most typical Argentinean folk dance-musical repertoires. The main purpose of this study is to compare affective temperaments between Argentinean professional tango dancers and the general population. Cytogenetic effects of promutagens in genetically engineered V79 Chinese hamster cells expressing cytochromes P450.

Abstract V79 Chinese hamster cell lines genetically engineered to express rat CYP2B1, CYP1A1, CYP1A2, and their parental cell lines V79-MZ, without acetyltransferase, and V79-NH, with acetyltransferase, were studied for chromosome aberrations and sister chromatid exchange induced by aflatoxin B 1 , cyclophosphamide, benzo[a]pyrene, 7,12-dimethylbenz[a]anthracene and dimethylnitrosamine. The parental V79 cell lines did not show clastogenic effects. Characterization of an epithelial, nearly diploid liver cell strain, from Chinese hamster, able to activate promutagens

Epithelial liver cells of the Chinese hamster (CHEL cells) were propagated in culture for 35 passages. At favourable cell densities, the population doubling time in normal medium, was 20 h. L-Tyrosine amino transferase activity was retained at a measurable level, but its enhancement by dexamethasone was detected solely in cells of early passages. Pyruvate kinase was strongly activated by fructose-1,6-biphosphate at low substrate concentrations. These enzymatic properties suggest that the CHEL cells are derived from a sub-population of parenchymal hepatocytes or from cells closely related to parenchymal hepatocytes. With a lag period of a few hours, CHEL cultures metabolized benzo[a]pyrene. …

Determination of aflatoxins in peanuts by matrix solid-phase dispersion and liquid chromatography

A new method based on matrix solid-phase dispersion (MSPD) extraction was studied to determine aflatoxin B1, B2, G1 and G2 from peanuts. Optimization of different parameters, such as type of solid supports for matrix dispersion and elution solvents were carried out. The method used 2 g of peanut sample, 2 g of C18 bonded silica as MSPD sorbent and acetonitrile as eluting solvent. Recoveries of each aflatoxin spiked to peanut samples at 2.5 ng/g (5 ng/g for aflatoxin G2) level were between 78 and 86% with relative standard deviations ranging from 4 to 7%. El cyberbullying es un problema grave y transcultural. Los estudios por lo que se refiere a la diferencia en cuanto al género y la edad de víctimas y agresores son inconsistentes. En este contexto, los objetivos del presente estudio fueron analizar si existen diferencias en la cibervictimización y ciberagresión en función del sexo (chicos y chicas), y el curso académico (1º, 2º, 3º, y 4º de la ESO). This article describes a study of the values and variables that influence hierarchical structuring in secondary school students. The main objectives are to determine which are the preferred values and to compare in what manner gender and age are related to the values of adolescents. The study is conducted with a sample (n=114) of male and female secondary school students, between 14 and 18 years old. The results show that the two variables (gender and age) are related to the subject’s values.
