Evolution of quadrupole collectivity in N=80 isotones toward the Z=64 subshell gap: The B(E2;2+1→0+1) value of 142Sm

It was shown that the evolution of the B(E2; 2+ 1 → 0+ 1 ) values in N = 80 isotones from Te to Nd is affected by the underlying subshell structure. This manifests itself in the observation of the local suppression of the B(E2) value at Z = 58 with respect to the neighboring nuclei 136Ba and 140Nd. To investigate this shell sensitivity toward the Z = 64 subshell gap, the B(E2; 2+ 1 → 0+ 1 ) value of the unstable nucleus 142Sm was measured utilizing the projectile Coulomb excitation technique. The radioactive ion beam (RIB) experiment was performed at the REX-ISOLDE facility at CERN. W niniejszym artykule zaprezentowano i skomentowano wyniki warsztatów translatorskich przeprowadzonych na Uniwersytecie Opolskim. Przetłumaczone fragmenty utworów Lydii Mischkulnig, Daniela Wissera i Maxi Obexer odczytywane są i interpretowane z perspektywy tożsamości literatury austriackiej. Z analizy studenckich próbek przekładu wynika, że zdiagnozowane problemy translatorskie związane są przede wszystkim z indywidualną estetyką przekładanych autorów oraz przekraczaniem przez nich tradycyjnych granic genologicznych.

Los pensamientos intrusos no deseados con contenidos similares a las obsesiones clínicas, constituyen una experiencia prácticamente universal en adultos sin psicopatologías. Sin embargo, no existen apenas evidencias de la presencia de estas introsiones en población infantil y pre-adolescente. En este trabajo se presenta el Inventario de Pensamientos Intrusos Obsesivos para Nif'los y Adolescentes (INPIOS-NA), que recoge en 45 items la frecuencia con que se experimentan intrusiones con temática obsesivo-compulsiva. BackgroundPrevious studies suggest that engagement in any type of physical activity can be protective against mental health issues, whereas elite-level athletes can endure various mental health challenges. The aim of this study was to determine variations in the prevalence of psychological distress among elite sambo athletes and their recreational counterparts.MethodsA sample consisting of 245 athletes (127 males and 118 females) was chosen. Out of the total sample, 105 were elite-level athletes while 140 were recreational athletes. Do the Mega and Titan Tests Yield Accurate Results? An Investigation into Two Experimental Intelligence Tests

The Mega and Titan Tests were designed by Ronald K. Hoeflin to make fine distinctions in the intellectual stratosphere. The Mega Test purported to measure above-average adult IQ up to and including scores with a rarity of one in a million of the general population. The Titan Test was billed as being even more difficult than the Mega Test. In this article, these claims are subjected to scrutiny. Both tests are renormed using the normal curve of distribution. It is found that the Mega Test has a higher ceiling and a lower floor than the Titan Test. While the Mega Test may thus seem preferable as a psychometric instrument, it is somewhat marred by a number of easy items in its verbal section. …

This study aimed to translate the modified Group Environment Questionnaire (GEQ) and the Youth Sport Environment Questionnaire (YSEQ) into Norwegian, examine the factor structure and reliability of the scales through independent clusters model confirmatory factor analysis (ICM-CFA) and exploratory structural equation modeling (ESEM), and examine differential item functioning (DIF) as a function of sex.
