Abstract Thermoeconomics has been assuming a growing role among the disciplines oriented to the analysis of energy systems, its different methodologies allowing solution of problems in the fields of cost accounting, plant design optimisation and diagnostic of malfunctions. L'Autrice affronta il tema della trascrivibilità degli atti di nascita formati all'estero all'estero a seguito di tecniche di procreazione medicalmente assistita di tipo eterologo o di gestazione per altri da parte di coppie italiane indicate come genitori nel certificato straniero. A partire da una sentenza della corte di appello di Torino viene tracciato il percorso interpretativo, dottrinale giurisprudenziale, in materia di famiglie same-sex per soffermare poi l'attenzione su filiazione e criteri di imputazione della genitorialità. Specifica attenzione è dedicata all'indagine circa la non contrarietà all'ordine pubblico dell'atto straniero.

GekkoFS - A Temporary Distributed File System for HPC Applications

We present GekkoFS, a temporary, highly-scalable burst buffer file system which has been specifically optimized for new access patterns of data-intensive High-Performance Computing (HPC) applications. The file system provides relaxed POSIX semantics, only offering features which are actually required by most (not all) applications. It is able to provide scalable I/O performance and reaches millions of metadata operations already for a small number of nodes, significantly outperforming the capabilities of general-purpose parallel file systems. Assessment of contamination of Salmonella spp. in imported black pepper and sesame seed and salmonella inactivation by gamma irradiation

This study shows the frequency of seeds samples contaminated by Salmonella spp. collected randomly from local markets; on 30 black pepper sample no contaminated sample was found while Salmonella spp. was detected in 3 of 36 (8.3%) analyzed sesame samples; three different serotypes were identified: S. Montevideo, S. Stanleyville e S. Tilene. The efficacy of gamma irradiation to inactivate Salmonella Montevideo in black pepper and sesame irradiated between 1 and 5 kGy was evaluated. 3 kGy is sufficient to reduce of 3-4 log CFU/g; whereas 5 kGy have been need to reduce 5.5-6 log CFU/g for samples of black pepper and sesame. François Rebsamen a été ministre du Travail en 2014-2015. Son livre, En toutes confidences, revient sur cette expérience ministérielle et plus largement sur son itinéraire politique. Son propos parfois incisif fait tout son intérêt. En outre, rares sont les ministres du Travail qui ont témoigné de leur rôle et l’ont fait sans trop de langue de bois. Le livre constitue donc une plongée dans l’univers des négociations avec les partenaires sociaux au plus haut niveau, de la fabrique ou du bricolage de réformes, puisque l’ancien ministre a laissé son nom à une loi relative au dialogue social et à l'emploi.

Robust and accurate human activity recognition (HAR) systems are essential to many human-centric services within active assisted living and healthcare facilities. Traditional HAR systems mostly leverage a single sensing modality (e.g., either wearable, vision, or radio frequency sensing) combined with machine learning techniques to recognize human activities. Such unimodal HAR systems do not cope well with real-time changes in the environment. To overcome this limitation, new HAR systems that incorporate multiple sensing modalities are needed.
