Understanding Batesian mimicry is a classic problem in evolutionary biology. In Batesian mimicry, a defended species (the model) is mimicked by an undefended species (the mimic). Prior theories have emphasized the role of predator behavior and learning as well as evolution in model-mimic complexes but have not examined the role of population dynamics in potentially governing the relative abundances and even persistence of model-mimic systems. INTRODUCTION: Signs and symptoms of venous thromboembolism (VTE) are non-specific and thus can make diagnosis difficult, even for an experienced clinician. We aimed to evaluate the timing of diagnosis of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism (PE) in Italian hospitals and to identify individual and clinical predictors of timely or delayed diagnosis. 1980-luvun lopulla Mihail Gorbatšovin aloittamat reformit mahdollistivat venäläisten rockmuusikoiden lähdön ulkomaille. Moni suuntasi Yhdysvaltoihin, jossa glasnostin myötä oli herännyt runsaasti kiinnostusta venäläiseksi miellettyjä ilmiöitä kohtaan. Kiinnostus ilmeni kuitenkin ennen kaikkea mediassa, kaupallisen menestyksen jäädessä laihaksi. Yhdysvaltoihin saapuneet venäläiset rockyhtyeet saivatkin kaupalliseen suosioonsa nähden suhteettoman paljon huomiota osakseen erityisesti maan sanomalehdistössä.
