Las nuevas tecnologías han calado muy profundamente en Educación. Hemos analizado las percepciones de estudiantes y docentes sobre el uso de la tablet como herramienta para enseñar ciencias, en un centro de ESO./Bachillerato donde cada estudiante dispone de un iPad. Estudiantes y docentes consideran que el mayor rendimiento del iPad se obtiene en asignaturas relacionadas con las ciencias de la vida. Este artículo recoge los resultados de una intervención docente diseñada y posteriormente implementada dirigida a la mejora de la calidad de la enseñanza de contenidos de Ciencias Sociales, concretamente de historia, a través de la incorporación de evidencias patrimoniales e instrumentos tecnológicos. This article analyzes the didactic potential of the new Google application, Google Hangouts according to the criteria established by Chapelle (2001) and its suitability as a ICT resource in the current educative context with the purpose of increasing the digital competence of the teacher. Then, three different ways of exploitation of this program are detailed: its use in the process of learning, either physical or online; its application as a means of teaching the target culture; and its utilization as an internal tool in our education institution.
University dropout : Prevention patterns through the application of educational data mining

Recently, the use of educational data mining techniques has gained great relevance when applied to performance prediction, creation of predictive retention models, behaviour profiles and school failure, amongst others. For the present paper we applied an attribute selection algorithm to identify the most important factors influencing drop out decision. Decision trees were used to define patterns that can alert an imminent dropout. A tool was adapted and administered online to 300 students from public HEIs, and 200 students from private HEIs currently enrolled on a higher education program. Even though the study of polymers is included in the school secondary curriculum in Spain, all the signs are that this topic is not being adequately addressed in the classroom. The aim of this paper is to explore the relationship between the practices used by teachers to teach to read and write at the beginning of schooling, and the learning opportunities. A qualitative analysis of a number of tasks carried out by teachers using three types of different practices -instructional, multidimensional and situational- is performed. The results show that these practices differ as to: the type of task carried out; the classroom dynamics developed to do so; literacy contents worked in class; and the materials used. This text is the support for the course of Modeling of Solids, of the Master of Mechanics of the University Paris-Saclay - Curriculum MMM: Mathematical Methods for Mechanics, held at Versailles. The course is the continuation of the course Continuum Mechanics - Solids, and as such it is an introduction, for graduate students, to some typical topics of the theory of solid bodies. The different arguments are dealt with in a simple, succinct way, the objective being to give to students the fundamentals of each argument. Only static problems are considered, being the dynamic of structures dealt with in other courses.
