Synthesis and mesomorphism of related series of triphilic ionic liquid crystals based on 1,2,4-triazolium cations

Abstract The synthesis, liquid crystal and conductivity properties of a series of 27 salts based on the 5-(4-(alkyloxy)phenyl)-1,2,4-triazol-4-ium cation bearing a perfluoroalkyl chain with triflate, tetrafluoroborate and bistriflimide anion are reported. The cations are regarded as triphilic on account of their three distinct regions – hydrocarbon, fluorocarbon and ionic. The mesophases were characterised by a combination of polarised optical microscopy, calorimetry and small-angle scattering experiments using both X-rays and neutrons, while thermal stability was probed using thermogravimetric analysis. The structure of poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) hydrogels formed as a result of freeze/thaw treatments of aqueous solutions of the polymer (11 wt % PVA) in the freshly prepared state is analyzed through the combined use of small (SANS) and ultrasmall (USANS) angle neutron scattering techniques. The structure of these hydrogels may be described in terms of polymer rich regions, with dimensions of the order of 1-2 microm, dispersed in a water rich phase, forming two bicontinuous phases. Bakalaura darbs apskata Artura Šniclera daiļradi mūsdienu kontekstā, īpaši akcentējot Šniclera darbu recepciju Latvijā pēc 1991. Bakalaura darba mērķis ir analizēt Artura Šniclera darbu recepciju Latvijā laika periodā no 1991. gada līdz 2018. gadam. Tā kā šajā laika periodā divas reizes ir tulkots un izdots darbs ar nosaukumu „Sapņa novele” un četras reizes uzvesta luga „Riņķa dancis”, ir pamats uzskatīt, ka šie darbie tiek interpretēti ļoti dažādi. Analizējot teātra kritiķu recenzijas, tiek secināts, ka režisori Latvijā interpretē Šniclera darbu, izmantojot dažādus teātra paņēmienus, tādējādi atklājot skatītājiem autora darbu ikreiz no cita skatpunkta. Lossless and nearly-lossless image compression based on combinatorial transforms

Common image compression standards are usually based on frequency transform such as Discrete Cosine Transform or Wavelets. We present a different approach for loss-less image compression, it is based on combinatorial transform. The main transform is Burrows Wheeler Transform (BWT) which tends to reorder symbols according to their following context. It becomes a promising compression approach based on contextmodelling. BWT was initially applied for text compression software such as BZIP2 ; nevertheless it has been recently applied to the image compression field. Chercheur à l’Inrae Dijon, Stéphane Cordeau est responsable de la plateforme expérimentale CA-SYS, créée en 2018, qui développe des systèmes de production agricole sans pesticide.Réduire de 50 % l’emploi de pesticides d’ici 2030, est-ce atteignable ?2030 c’est demain. Je ne peux pas dire si c’est possible ou pas, en revanche c’est un enjeu de taille. Les dispositifs zéro pesticide que l’on teste sur la plateforme CA-SYS, co-construite avec le monde agricole depuis 2013, visent à éclairer les impasses, les difficultés, les performances, le coût de la transition.
