Chiral self-sorting behaviour of [2.2]paracyclophane-based bis(pyridine) ligands

Two constitutionally isomeric chiral bis(pyridine) ligands based on planar chiral 4,15-difunctionalized [2.2]paracyclophanes were synthesized, the respective enantiomers were separated via HPLC on a chiral stationary phase, and their self-assembly behaviour upon coordination to palladium(ii) ions was studied with regard to chiral self-sorting effects. As proven by NMR spectroscopy, mass spectrometry, CD spectroscopy, UV-Vis spectroscopy and X-ray crystallography both ligands form the expected dinuclear complexes upon coordination to cis-protected di- or tetravalent palladium(ii) ions, respectively, however, with distinct differences concerning their chiral self-sorting ability. peerReviewed

The obstructive sleep apnea syndrome is a chronic condition characterized by frequent episodes of collapse of the upper airways during sleep. It can be considered a multisystem disease. Among the districts involved, even the auditory system was seen to be concerned. It was enrolled a population of 20 patients after polysomnographic diagnosis of OSAS (Apnea Hypopnea Index > 10) and a control group of 28 healthy persons (Apnea Hypopnea Index < 5). Each patient has been subjected to Pure Tone Audiometry, Tympanometry, study of Acoustic Reflex, Otoacoustic Emissions and Auditory Brainstem Response. Bakalaura darba tēma – Saskarsmes īpatnības vājdzirdīgo pacientu aprūpē operāciju zālē. Problēma ir aktuāla, jo dzirde ir viens no dzīves kvalitātes rādītājiem. Ar katru gadu apkārtējā vide kļūst industralizētāka. Tas nozīmē dzirdes traucējumu izplatības pieaugumu sabiedrībā. Visbiežāk dzirdes traucējumi ietekmē saskarsmes spējas ar apkārtējiem. Saskarsmes spējas ir viena no cilvēku pamatvajadzībām. Arī operāciju zālē ir ļoti svarīga saskarsme un komunikācija ar pacientu, arī pat tad, ja pacientam ir dzirdes traucējumi. Denne artikkelen undersøker hvorvidt respondenter i norske fylkesadministrasjoner oppfatter at sentrale beslutninger influeres av eksterne aktører – gjennom vertikale relasjoner til sentraladministrative instanser og EU/EØS-institusjoner, samt horisontale relasjoner til andre fylkesadministrasjoner – og hvordan variasjonen i slike relasjoner kan forklares. Artikkelen bygger på data fra en ny spørreundersøkelse i norske fylkesadministrasjoner (N = 893), og viser hvordan fylkesadministrasjonene under visse betingelser kan opptre med to eller flere «hatter», det vil si at beslutningene som treffes influeres av flere eksterne aktører samtidig.
