Subphotospheric convection and magnetic activity dependence on metallicity and age: Models and tests

We present an extensive study on the dependence of the convective turnover time (conv) on the stellar metallicity and age for main-sequence stars of masses 0.6{1.6 M. To this aim we have used and compared predictions by stellar models based on the classical Mixing Length Theory and models incorporating a Full Spectrum of Turbulence treatment of subphotospheric convection. We show that the metallicity eect is relevant for dG stars but negligible for dK stars, while stellar age is important when computing the turnover times for red dwarfs younger than logt 8:5 yr. The article discusses source materials for history o f Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth Dietines, found in archival legacy o f Ludwig Gruno, Prince o f Hesse-Homburg. The documents are part o f field chancellery o f the prince, currently preserved in the Military-Historical Museum of Engineer and Signal Corps in St. Petersburg among over a thousand of letters, documents and files illustrating his achievements as commander o f Russian armies in the Caucasus and Poland in 1732-1736. A reformulation of the static approach to evaluate directly the shakedown and limit multipliers by using the Symmetric Boundary Element Method for multidomain type problems [1,2] is shown. The present formulation utilizes the self-equilibrium stress equation [3-5] connecting the stresses at the Gauss points of each substructure (bem-e) to plastic strains through a stiffness matrix (self stress matrix) involving all the bem-elements in the discretized system. Elastoplastic analysis for active macro-zones via multidomain symmetric Galerkin BEM

In this paper a strategy to perform elastoplastic analysis by using the Symmetric Boundary Element Method (SBEM) for multidomain type problems is shown. This formulation uses a self-stresses equation to evaluate the trial stress in the predictor phase, and to provide the elastoplastic solution in the corrector one. Since the solution is obtained through a return mapping involving simultaneously all the plastically active bem-elements, the proposed strategy does not depend on the path of the plastic strain process and it is characterized by computational advantages due the considerable decrease of the plastic iterations number.
