Spin Transition Molecular Materials: New Sensors

This short review article concerns a new family of iron(II) spin transition chain compounds containing 4-R-1,2,4-triazole derivatives whose properties have been followed by several physical techniques. A clear evidence of the LIESST effect at 20 K has been found for one of these materials by 57Fe Mossbauer spectroscopy. Potential applications in terms of pressure and thermal sensors are discussed.
Convergent Morphological Evolution in Silene Sect. Italicae (Caryophyllaceae) in the Mediterranean Basin

Recent divergence can obscure species boundaries among closely related taxa. Silene section Italicae (Caryophyllaceae) has been taxonomically controversial, with about 30 species described. We investigate species delimitation within this section using 500 specimens sequenced for one nuclear and two plastid markers. Despite the use of a small number of genes, the large number of sequenced samples allowed confident delimitation of 50% of the species. The delimitation of other species (e.g., Silene nemoralis, S. nodulosa and S. andryalifolia) was more challenging. Abstract Synthesis, structural, magnetic, Mossbauer and thermal studies of isothiocyanate iron (II) complexes with substituted pyrazines (iodo-, bromo- and amino-derivatives) are discussed here. Complexes with iodo- and bromo-derivatives were found to have the composition [Fe(Ipz)2(SCN)2(H2O)2]·2Ipz (1) and [Fe(Brpz)2(SCN)2(H2O)2]·2Brpz (2), whereas in the case of amino-functionalized pyrazine the formation of [Fe(NH2pz)4(SCN)2] (3) was observed. 3D organization of the molecular complexes is stabilized within different hydrogen, halogen and lone pair–π interactions. El objetivo de este estudio fue analizar las propiedades psicométricas del Cuestionario para la Evaluación del Síndrome de Quemarse por el Trabajo (CESQT) en una muestra de profesionales de la salud italianos. La muestra estuvo formada por 695 participantes (453 profesionales de enfermería y 242 médicos). Según el género se identificaron 451 mujeres (64.9%) y 244 hombres (35.1%). El CESQT está formado por 20 ítems que se distribuyen en cuatro dimensiones: Ilusión por el trabajo (5 ítems), Desgaste psíquico (4 ítems), Indolencia (6 ítems), y Culpa (5 ítems). Bakalaura darbs ir uzrakstīts angļu valodā uz 47 lapaspusēm. Tas satur 3 zīmējumus, 20 tabulas, 39 literatūras avotus un pielikumu. Darba mērķis ir salīdzināt divu jaunu intraokulāro lēcu (difraktīvā trifokālā lēca un paplašināta fokusa dziļuma multifokālā lēca) efektivitāti presbiopija korekcijā pēc kataraktas operācijas. Pētījumi tika veikti 3 mēnešu periodā pēc kataraktas operācijas, kad tika novērtēta redzes kvalitāte, mērot redzes asumu un kontrasta redzi fotopiskos gaismas un mezopiskos krēslas apstākļos. Bakalaura darbs uzrakstīts uz 27 lapaspusēm, satur 18 zīmējumus, 1 tabulu un 20 literatūras avotus. Darba mērķis ir novērtēt redzes asumu un kontrasta jūtību fotopiskos un mezopiskos apstākļos pacientiem, koriģētiem ar brillēm un vienas dienas multifokālajām kontaktlēcām. Mūsu pētījumi parādīja, ka fotopiskos apstākļos pacientiem pēc korekcijas ar multifokālajām kontaktlēcām redzes asums vidēji samazinājās par 0,02 logMAR vienībām. Mezopiskos krēslas apstākļos pacientiem koriģētiem ar multifokālajām kontaktlēcām redzes asuma samazinājums vidēji bija 0.05 logMAR vienības. Atšķirības redzes asumā ir statistiski nozīmīgas. Este trabajo compara el ajuste, en el llano de inundación del río Arga (Navarra), entre las zonas inundables delimitadas, por una cartografía de peligro (a partir del modelo hidráulico HEC-RAS) y las áreas realmente inundadas en tres crecidas concretas, delimitadas mediante fotografía aérea y trabajo de campo. La comparación pone de manifiesto el gran potencial del modelo para delimitar estas zonas en aquellos sectores donde el llano transcurre confinado y en los sucesos de menor magnitud, donde se infravalora la zona expuesta y los errores quedan del lado de la seguridad. Molybdenum (Mo) is an essential trace element for plant growth, development, and production. However, there is little known about the function and effects of molybdenum in tomato plants. The present study assessed the influences of different Mo concentrations on four tomato F1 hybrids (“Bybal” F1, “Tyty” F1, “Paride” F1, and “Ornela” F1) grown using a soilless system with different Mo levels [0.0, 0.5 (standard NS), 2.0, and 4.0 μmol L−1, respectively].
