The content validity of the adult attachment interview. An empirical investigation using text analysis
2011
The aim of this study was to conduct a preliminary investigation of the content validity of the Adult Attachment Interview (AAI). Content validity is a series of hypothesis control methods relating to the communication of facts and it can be tested using several procedures of analytical decomposition (Rositi, 1988). In order to evaluate the content validity of a text, Sireci (1998), Sireci and Geisinger (1992, 1995), and Ding (2005) suggested the integration within this technique of multidimensional scaling and cluster analysis. The aim of this study was to conduct a preliminary investigation of the content validity of the AAI, as proposed in the literature. We hypothesized that participant…
Descriptive epidemiology of nasal carriage of Staphylococcus aureus and methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus among patients admitted to two he…
2014
Aim: To evaluate nasal carriage rate and variables associated with Staphylococcus aureus and methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) in patients admitted in two healthcare facilities. Results: S. aureus was isolated from 159 (26%) of the enrolled patients. Methicillin-susceptible S. aureus was isolated from 150 (24.5%) patients, and MRSA was isolated from 9 (1.5%). Cancer and previous hospitalization were associated with a significantly higher frequency of nasal S. aureus carriage among the patients admitted to the general hospital and the nephrology department, respectively. MRSA isolates were heterogeneous with respect to their staphylococcal cassette chromosome mec element (SC…
Ventilator-associated Pneumonia and MRSA ST398, Italy
2010
To the Editor: Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) sequence type (ST)398 has become increasingly common in livestock, particularly pigs, in some countries in Europe, such as Spain and Germany (1). In Italy, prevalences as high as 14% and 21.6% in pig-breeding facilities and meat-processing sites, respectively, have been recently reported (1). Possible association of MRSA in animals with infection in humans has been investigated. One study showed a strong relationship between contact with pigs or calves and carriage by persons having direct contact with animals and families of persons who handle animals (2). Moreover, an MRSA prevalence >11.9% has been described by de Boer et …
Windows operētājsistēmu un programmatūru atjaunināšana, izmantojot Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager un Active Directory
2019
Loss in milk yield and related composition changes resulting from different levels of somatic cell count in Valle del Belice dairy sheep
2015
Mastitis is the most common and costly disease in the dairy industry and is responsible for several production effects. Mammary infections cause high somatic cell count (SCC) and severe damage to udder tissue and result in important losses of milk yield and quality, curd and cheese yields in dairy ewes. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of different levels of SCC on milk yield and composition in Valle del Belice dairy sheep. The original data set used for this study included 92,261 records of 6,763 ewes. Data were collected between 1994 and 2006 in 15 flocks. Test-day records of milk yield (MY), fat % (F%), protein % (P%), and SCC were collected following an A4 recording sch…
CONSTRUCTIONS, FRAMES, CARTOGRAPHIES MENTALES.: ESQUISSE D'UNE MÉTHODE POUR LA REPRÉSENTATION ET LA TRANSMISSION DE CONNAISSANCES EN COURS DE LANGUES…
2020
International audience; In the last three decades the linguistic innovation has brought two main theoretical tools that are fully functional: the construction grammar and the frame semantics. The present work makes a proposal to unite both frameworks in order to exploit their respective contribution in a pedagogical perspective in foreign language classes. The aim is (i) to operationalize the theoretical junction, and (ii) to propose to exploit it by using mind maps, which elaboration is based on the observation of the speech praxis.
Analysis and modeling of Temporal Dominance of Sensations with stochastic processes
2019
Temporal Dominance of Sensations (TDS) is a technique to measure temporal perception of food product during tasting. For a panelist, it consists in choosing in a list of attributes which one is dominant at any time. This work aims to model TDS data with a stochastic process and proposes to use semi-Markov processes (SMP), a generalization of Markov chains which allows dominance durations to be modeled by any type of distribution. The model can then be used to compare TDS samples based on likelihood ratio. Because probabilities of transition from one attribute to another one can also depend on time, we propose to model TDS by period and we propose a method to select optimally the number of p…

Benefits of learning technologies in medical training, from full-scale simulators to virtual reality and multimedia presentations
2010
The rapid growth of technology provides a wide range of new learning tools such as multimedia presentations of materials, interactive animated images for anatomy learning, 3-D models, full-scale (FS) patient simulators, and microworld training software, which are virtual reality tools that include high-level interactive haptic properties. These new learning approaches have been recently used in medical training and education.
