Lending Crowdfunding : Principles and Market Development

2020

AbstractCrowdlending has emerged as the leading form of crowdfunding in terms of scope and scale. For lenders, it offers new investment opportunities, often offering better returns than some alternative investment channels, as well as opening to incorporate new small-scale investors that have not enjoyed such opportunities before. For borrowers, it offers new channels to access credit, often either offered at better terms or by including groups that have previously been marginalized and underserved by traditional credit service providers. In the current chapter we present the brief history of crowdlending, its diversity of models, the current state or the industry, as well as the underlying…

The effect of Mo and Ge reactive elements on high-temperature oxidation of higher manganese silicide

2021

Abstract Higher manganese silicide (HMS) alloys (Mnx-αMoαSiy-βGeβ (x = 0.99–1.011, α = 0.005–0.02, y = 1.75, β = 0.005–0.01)) were studied to elucidate the effect of Mo and Ge pertaining to oxidation. Oxidation experiments were conducted using thermogravimetry and characterized using x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Isoconversion experiments below 450 °C, shows that doping (up to 2 at%) raises the oxidation potential of HMS. Isothermally, the oxidation rate reduces buy one order of magnitude by doping on Mn and/or Si sites from 0.5 to 2 at%, revealing that the dopants-based oxides do not lessen the robustness of SiO2 oxide.

Do public support services matter in the multilocation process in China?

2016

Purpose– During the last decade the demand to comprehend the overarching success factors of the multilocation process in distant countries such as China has increased significantly. In this context, the purpose of this paper is to explore and understand the nature and scope of the collaboration between the public support services (PSS) in China and the Spanish enterprises which decided to be multilocated there.Design/methodology/approach– The present study examines the necessity of the PSS in China by employing a review of literature as well as both quantitative and qualitative surveys from 31 Spanish companies multilocated in China.Findings– The main conclusions highlight the fact that the…

The political, legal and moral scope of the universal declaration of human rights: pending issues

2018

With the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, a new era began in the recognition and guarantee of human rights in the international area. However, since the moment of its approval, this text has received negative evaluations designed to relegate it to the background. The responses to these criticisms allow us to review their political and legal scope, and put it in value as a reference model in the field of human rights, delving into the pending issues to strengthen it. This is intended, on the seventieth anniversary of the Declaration, to insist that this remains an essential bridge to clarify standards that can serve as a basis for discussion between different cultures a…

Commissione di massimo scoperto e usura: riflessioni a margine di Cassazione 20 giugno 2018, n. 16303

2019

German neuroendoscopy above the skull base

2009

Endoscopy plays an important part in current minimally invasive neurosurgery. The concepts, indications, and standards of current neuroendoscopy were developed in the beginning of the 1990s by several groups of neurosurgeons. Several factors contributed to its success and acceptance, including technical development, influence of other disciplines, and adaptation to neurosurgical requirements. This historical survey focuses on the period when this technique initially emerged, including the scientific discussions of each group as well as the arguments and reasons that led to present intraventricular neuroendoscopy. Interestingly, despite the almost independent development of neuroendoscopic s…

Radio Emission from SN 2001gd in NGC 5033

2003

We present the results of monitoring the radio emission from the Type IIb supernova SN 2001gd between 2002 February 8 and 2002 October 28. Most of the data were obtained using the Very Large Array at the five wavelengths of $\lambda \lambda$1.3 cm (22.4 GHz), 2.0 cm (14.9 GHz), 3.6 cm (8.44 GHz), 6.2 cm (4.86 GHz), and 21 cm (1.4 GHz). Observations were also made with Giant Meterwave Radio Telescope at $\lambda$21 cm (1.4 GHz). The object was discovered optically well after maximum light, making any determination of the early radio evolution difficult. However, subsequent observations indicate that the radio emission has evolved regularly in both time and frequency and is well described by …

Hierarchical imaging and computational analysis of three-dimensional vascular network architecture in the entire postnatal and adult mouse brain

2021

The formation of new blood vessels and the establishment of vascular networks are crucial during brain development, in the adult healthy brain, as well as in various diseases of the central nervous system. Here, we describe a step-by-step protocol for our recently developed method that enables hierarchical imaging and computational analysis of vascular networks in postnatal and adult mouse brains. The different stages of the procedure include resin-based vascular corrosion casting, scanning electron microscopy, synchrotron radiation and desktop microcomputed tomography imaging, and computational network analysis. Combining these methods enables detailed visualization and quantification of t…

Performance of the C-MAC video laryngoscope in patients after a limited glottic view using Macintosh laryngoscopy

2011

We applied the C-MAC videolaryngoscope in 52 consecutive patients who were found to have an unexpected Cormack and Lehane grade-3 (n = 49) and grade-4 (n = 3) laryngeal view with the Macintosh laryngoscope. The glottic view improved in 49 (94%) patients using the C-MAC. Tracheal intubation was successful in 49 of 52 patients (94%). In one patient, tracheal intubation failed using the C-MAC despite the presence of a Cormack and Lehane grade-2. These results suggest that the C-MAC videolaryngoscope has a role as a rescue device in cases of an initially difficult laryngeal view.
