Abstract: Information-theory procedures are powerful tools for multimodel inference and are now standard methods in ecology. When performing model averaging on a given set of models, the importance of a predictor variable is commonly estimated by summing the weights of models where the variable appears, the so-called sum of weights (SW). However, SWs have received little methodological attention and are frequently misinterpreted. We assessed the reliability of SW by performing model selection and averaging on simulated data sets including variables strongly and weakly correlated to the response variable and a variable unrelated to the response. Weeds are usually considered as harmful for crops but they are essential for biodiversity. Indicators were already developed using the model FLORSYS (Colbach et al., 2014) to evaluate the cropping system in term of harmfullness or benefits related to weed flora. We thus propose a new indicator to evaluate the potential of pesticide retention by weed flora and its impact on pesticide transfer into the environment. The indicator is divided in two parts i) herbicide application efficiency (herbicides interception by weeds), ii) plant uptake for the others pesticides. In un articolo pubblicato da Domus nel 1998 John Thackara sosteneva che il destino del design sarebbe stato l’entropia, presentando possibili e stimolanti vie di fuga da tale dimensione. A 20 anni da questa affermazione e a 100 anni dal Bauhaus, si avverte la necessità di immaginare un’offerta formativa altrettanto visionaria e coraggiosa come quella di Weimar, in grado di assumere l’entropia descritta da Thackara in una nuova prospettiva.
