Split-Delivery Capacitated Arc-Routing Problem: Lower Bound and Metaheuristic

2010

International audience; This paper proposes lower and upper bounds for the split-delivery capacitated arc-routing problem (SDCARP), a variant of the capacitated arc-routing problem in which an edge can be serviced by several vehicles. Recent papers on related problems in node routing have shown that this policy can bring significant savings. It is also more realistic in applications such as urban refuse collection, where a vehicle can become full in the middle of a street segment. This work presents the first lower bound for the SDCARP, computed with a cutting plane algorithm and an evolutionary local search reinforced by a multistart procedure and a variable neighborhood descent. Tests on …

Interface Solid-State Reactions in La0.8Sr0.2MnO3/Ce0.8Sm0.2O2 and La0.8Sr0.2MnO3/BaCe0.9Y0.1O3 Disclosed by X-ray Microspectroscopy

2019

The stability of the electrode/electrolyte interface is a critical issue in solid-oxide cells working at high temperatures, affecting their durability. In this paper, we investigate the solid-state chemical mechanisms that occur at the interface between two electrolytes (Ce0.8Sm0.2O2, SDC, and BaCe0.9Y0.1O3, BCY) and a cathode material (La0.8Sr0.2MnO3, LSM) after prolonged thermal treatments. Following our previous work on the subject, we used X-ray microspectroscopy, a technique that probes the interface with submicrometric resolution combining microanalytical information with the chemical and structural information coming from space-resolved X-ray absorption spectroscopy. In LSM/BCY, the …

New synthetic strategies for the enhancement of the ionic conductivity in Ce0.8Sm0.2O2-x

2013

Introduction Samarium-doped ceria has been widely investigat-ed for electrochemistry applications as full density elec-trolyte for intermediate temperature solid oxide fuel cells (IT-SOFC), between 500°C and 800°C [1]. One of the main challenges for the ceria-based electrolytes is to decrease the resistivity at the grain boundary zone, especially in this low temperature range. Microstructure and morphology of the powder play a fundamental role on the densification behaviour and grain boundary properties, thus affecting the overall conductivity of electrolytes [2]. In this light, solution combustion syn-thesis (SCS) represents a flexible method to produce ultra fine powders with suitable mic…
