Attraverso la ricerca presentata si sono voluti mettere a fuoco quegli aspetti legati all’autovalutazione degli insegnanti, intesa come processo sistematico di esame e revisione delle pratiche messe in opera da una comunità professionale. Questo lavoro documenta una ricerca svolta con un gruppo di 144 docenti in servizio. Research about metacognition and its implications for learning and instruction have become a central issue in education. The call for teaching metacognitive skills is considered one of the main implications for instruction that has emerged from over three decades of research about how people learn. Maģistra darbs ir uzrakstīts angļu valodā uz 36 lapam. Tas satur 17 attēlus, 4 tabulas u 82 atsauces. Mērķis: Izpētīt, kā dažādas tematiskās fotogrāfijas modulē sāpju noteikšanas sliekšņus, un novērtētu emocionālās fotogrāfijas izmantojot pašnovērtējuma manekenu metodi (SAM). Metodes: 21 sievietei sāpju noteikšanas sliekšņi tika izmērīti ar pakāpeniski pieaugoša sprieguma padevi dalībnieku apakšdelmiem. Rezultāti: Sāpju noteikšanas sliekšņi tika samazināti ar negatīvām valences fotogrāfijām (attēlojot vardarbību, dzīvnieku un cilvēku uzbrukumus, zaudējumus). Challenges of Interdisciplinary University Programs of Studies: The Case of English in Public Communication

The aim of this study is to track students’ self-assessed successes and failures after taking courses in English in Public Communication (EPC) at the University of Opole. This interdisciplinary BA program combines philological, sociological and public communication courses. Using the data from 204 surveys, the study compares the calculated mean scores for the achievement of “new knowledge,” “new skills” and “new social competences” within two groups of subjects: core curriculum courses and practical English courses as declared by the first- and second-year students of EPC. We are developing an Internet-based program that learners of Finnish can use to assess their own writing skills. The program code originally comes from the DIALANG project, which is developing a diagnostic language assessment system for 14 languages for the Internet. Itsearviointi on merkittävä osa kieltenoppimista, sillä sen avulla oppilaat voivat muun muassa huomata vahvuutensa ja heikkoutensa, kehittää itseään tarvittavilla osa-alueilla, sekä asettaa itselleen realistisia opiskelutavoitteita. Aikaisempi tutkimus keskittyi pääasiallisesti taloudellisiin malleihin, joiden tarkoituksena oli auttaa organisaatioita tunnistamaan kuinka paljon heidän tulisi sijoittaa tietoturvallisuuteen. Nämä mallit pyrkivät tuottojen maksimointiin ja keskittyivät tietoturvainvestointiprosessin tiettyihin osiin.
