Maisterintutkielman tavoitteena on selvittää voiko rakennus purkamisensa myötä menettää kulttuurisen merkityksensä, kadota yhteisönsä muistista ja näin muuttua yhdentekeväksi. Työssä selvitetään myös miten linja-autoaseman merkitykset rakentuvat ja millaisia ne voivat olla. Esimerkkitapauksena on Jyväskylän viimeinen linja-autoasema, joka purettiin vuonna 2006, kun joukkoliikenteen kaukopalvelut keskitettiin matkakeskukseen. Paikalle ei jätetty historiallisia viitteitä asemasta, joten mahdollisuus sen yhteisölliseen unohtamiseen on olemassa. Tutkielma käsittelee tapausesimerkkinä Lappeenrannan entisen rautatieaseman merkityksiä sen elinkaaren 1885–2013 aikana ja edelleen nykyhetkenä, jolloin rakennusta ei enää ole. ”Vanhaksi asemaksi” ja myöhemmin ”Keisarinasemaksi” kutsutulla rakennuksella oli monivaiheinen historia, kunnes se vasta restauroituna katosi kaupunkikuvasta tulipalon seurauksena vuonna 2013. Tässä työssä tarkastellaan rakennuksen ja sen käyttäjien suhteen muuttumista, rakennuksen identiteetin muuttumista ja merkityksiä, joita rakennukseen on kohdistettu eri aikoina. Most research into the adaptive significance of warning signals has focused on the colouration and patterns of prey animals. However, behaviour, odour and body shape can also have signal functions and thereby reduce predators' willingness to attack defended prey. European vipers all have a distinctive triangular head shape; and they are all venomous. Several non-venomous snakes, including the subfamily Natricinae, commonly flatten their heads (also known as head triangulation) when disturbed. The adaptive significance of this potential behavioural mimicry has never been investigated. This data is from the experiment that investigated how wild-caught blue tits and great tits use conspecific and heterospecific information about unpalatable prey, published at the Journal of Animal Ecology (2020). The experiment was conducted at the Konnevesi Research Station from October to December 2017. Sheet 1 (“Main experiment”) contains data from the main avoidance learning experiment. Sheets 2 (“Symbol preference blue tits”) and 3 ("Symbol visibility blue tits") contain data of blue tits' symbol choices in initial preference and visibility tests.
