The polypeptide chain composition of class II antigens from LEW rat spleen cells was studied utilizing cross-reactive mouse alloantiserum A. TH anti-A.TL (specificity anti-Iak) and the monoclonal antibodies MRC-OX6 and MRC-OX3 for immunoprecipitation. Two-dimensional gel mapping of A. TH anti-A. TL immunoprecipitates revealed that, as in the mouse, two groups of class II antigens exist corresponding to I-A and I-E locus equivalent structures. Cationized albumin-biocoatings for the immobilization of lipid vesicles

Tethered lipid membranes or immobilized lipid vesicles are frequently used as biomimetic systems. In this article, the authors presented a suitable method for efficient immobilization of lipid vesicles onto a broad range of surfaces, enabling analysis by quantitative methods even under rigid, mechanical conditions-bare surfaces such as hydrophilic glass surfaces as well as hydrophobic polymer slides or metal surfaces such as gold. Zur Frage der Serumenzymaktivit�ts�nderungen bei vegetativer Gesamtumschaltung

Bei 5 Patienten wurde eine Luftencephalographie ausgefuhrt. Neben der Temperaturkontrolle wurden Leukocyten, Blutzucker, MDH, ADH, SGOT und SGPT vor dem Eingriff und jeweils 2, 4 und 24 Std danach bestimmt. Die Werte von Temperatur, Leukocyten und Blutzucker zeigten die Auslosung der vegetativen Gesamtumschaltung nachHoff, dagegen fanden sich keine Anderungen der untersuchten Serumenzymaktivitaten. Es wird daraus geschlossen, das die vegetative Gesamtumschaltung keinen bestimmenden Faktor fur die Erhohung der Serumenzymaktivitaten darstellt. Die moglichen Grunde, die zu einer Anderung der Serumenzymaktivitat fuhren konnen, werden diskutiert.

Femtosecond Transient Absorption Study of the Dynamics of Acrylodan in Solution and Attached to Human Serum Albumin

The excited-state relaxation dynamics of the protein-labeling dye acrylodan in solution and attached to human serum albumin has been studied by femtosecond transient absorption spectroscopy. Time-resolved spectra and kinetics of stimulated emission and excited-state absorption in the wavelength region from 400 to 800 nm were studied in ethanol and dimethylformamide. The excited-state solvation dynamics is characterized by multiexponential behavior in both solvents. In ethanol solution, the time dependence of the transient spectra is interpreted in terms of fast solvent relaxation followed by excited-state isomerization of the dye. HSA, together with alpha(1)-acid glycoprotein, are the most important plasma proteins, which act as drug carriers, with implications on the pharmacokinetic of drugs. Characterization of antihistamine–human serum protein interactions by capillary electrophoresis

An important topic in the drug discovery and development process is the role of drug binding to plasma proteins. In this paper the characterization of the interaction between antihistamines (cationic drugs) towards human serum albumin (HSA) and alpha(1)-acid glycoprotein (AGP) under physiological conditions by capillary electrophoresis-frontal analysis is presented. Furthermore, the binding of these drugs to all plasma proteins is evaluated by using ultrafiltration and capillary electrophoresis.
