Associations between observed patterns of classroom interactions and teacher wellbeing in lower secondary school

Classroom observations and teacher self-reports were used to examine the relationships between patterns of teacherestudent interactions and the wellbeing of Norwegian lower secondary school teachers. Latent profile analysis identified four subgroups. Teacherestudent interactions and the teachers' wellbeing were inter-related in that teachers who were observed to be high in all the interaction domains (Emotional Support, Classroom Organization, and Instructional Support) perceived themselves as having high job satisfaction. Income, Sex, Pills and Relationships: An Empirical Study for Argentina

We use 28 years of Argentina’s life satisfaction (LS) and happiness (HA) data to test the Easterlin Paradox and find out the actual determinants of happiness. Argentineans are happier now than in 1984, and the City of Buenos Aires leads in present rankings of happiness in Argentina. In the cross-section analysis, LS correlates with the satisfaction about the economic situation of households, but the satisfaction with family and time spent with loved ones have a higher explanatory power. When it comes to HA, high social class members do not always buy a ticket, but low class makes people sadder. Nontraditional variables – pills for mental stress and sex – were also studied.

The Antecedents of Customer Loyalty - Results of an Empirical Study in the Automotive Industry

Customer satisfaction is regarded as the key to customer loyalty in the automotive industry. However, this relationship is influenced by several other variables, like switching barriers or variety seeking. This paper provides a structural equation model with latent variables for modeling this complex relationship. According to literature, high satisfaction should lead to loyalty but is heavily affected by moderating variables. An empricial study is reported which supports these predictions as well as the arguments on which they are based.

Development of need for recovery from work over one year: A person-centered approach

This longitudinal questionnaire study conducted among 274 Finnish employees (57% women, average age 45.9 years) in a variety of jobs aimed at identifying groups of employees who share similar mean levels and changes in need for recovery and finding out whether factors regarded as antecedents of need for recovery distinguish between the different groups of need for recovery across one year. Adolescents' experiences of parental employment and parenting: connections to adolescents' well-being.

This paper examines whether the relationship between parental work and adolescents' well-being would be mediated through parenting behaviour. The primary focus was on the experiences of adolescents. Questionnaire-based data from families (both parents and one children, n = 77) and adolescents (n = 126) were collected in Finland in 2000 and 2001, respectively. The adolescents were on average 14 years old. Results showed that the relationships between parents' negative work experiences and adolescents' depression (all perceived by adolescents) were partially mediated by adolescents' experience of lessened autonomy granting in parenting and increased conflicts between parents and adolescents. …

Background The universal breadwinner model means both parents are employed; while the universal caregiver model implies that the father's hours of caregiving are equal or higher to those of the mother. This study aims to examine the hypothesis that the universal caregiver model is more related to the overall well-being of mothers of children with intellectual disabilities than the universal breadwinner model.
