Characterizing breathing dynamics of magnetic skyrmions and antiskyrmions within the Hamiltonian formalism

We derive an effective Hamiltonian system describing the low-energy dynamics of circular magnetic skyrmions and antiskyrmions. Using scaling and symmetry arguments, we model (anti)skyrmion dynamics through a finite set of coupled, canonically conjugated, collective coordinates. The resulting theoretical description is independent of both micromagnetic details as well as any specificity in the ansatz of the skyrmion profile. Based on the Hamiltonian structure, we derive a general description for breathing dynamics of (anti)skyrmions in the limit of radius much larger than the domain wall width. Unitarity of Minkowski nonlocal theories made explicit

In this work we explicitly show that the perturbative unitarity of analytic infinite derivative (AID) scalar field theories can be achieved using a modified prescription for computing scattering amplitudes. The crux of the new prescription is the analytic continuation of a result obtained in the Euclidean signature to the Minkowski external momenta. We intensively elaborate an example of a non-local $\phi^4$ model for various infinite derivative operators. General UV properties of amplitudes in non-local theories are discussed.
On cosmic quantum tunneling from “nothing”

We extend to a general Λ-Eriedmann-Lemaitre-Robertson-Walker (ΛFLRW) a previous result by Vilenkin and others according to which a closed de Sitter universe could be created from "nothing". More specifically, our main result is that only the closed ΛFLRW universe (but not the open and flat ones) could be created from a corresponding instanton, that is, from the corresponding solution with signature +4 of the Einstein field equations. Before getting this result the suitable corresponding instantons are calculated. The result is in accordance with previous results by another authors obtained by different methods.
Signature of an h1 state in the J/ψ→ηh1→ηK⁎0K¯⁎0 decay

The BES data on the J/psi -> eta K*(0)(K) over bar*(0) reaction show a clear enhancement in the K*(0)(K) over bar*(0) mass distribution close to the threshold of this channel. Such an enhancement is usually a signature of an L = 0 resonance around threshold, which in this case would correspond to an h1 state with quantum numbers I-G(J(Pc))= 0(-)(1(+-)). A state around 1800 MeV results from the interaction of the K*TC* using the local hidden gauge approach. We show that the peak observed in J/psi -> eta K*(0)(K) over bar*(0) naturally comes from the creation of this h(1) state with mass and width around 1830 MeV and 110 MeV, respectively. ERGODICITY IN RANDOMLY COLLIDING QUBITS

The dynamics of a single qubit randomly colliding with an environment consisting of just two qubits is discussed. It is shown that the system reaches an equilibrium state which coincides with a pure random state of three qubits. Furthermore the time average and the ensemble averages of the quantities used to characterize the approach to equilibrium (purity and tangles) coincide, a signature of ergodic behavior.
Multiple Time Scales in the Microwave Ionization of Rydberg Atoms

We investigate the time dependence of the ionization probability of Rydberg atoms driven by microwave fields, both numerically and experimentally. Our exact quantum results provide evidence for an algebraic decay law on suitably chosen time scales, a phenomenon that is considered to be the signature of nonhyperbolic scattering in unbounded classically chaotic motion.
Test of mode coupling theory for a supercooled liquid of diatomic molecules. II.q-dependent orientational correlators

Using molecular dynamics computer simulations we study the dynamics of a molecular liquid by means of a general class of time-dependent correlators S_{ll'}^m(q,t) which explicitly involve translational (TDOF) and orientational degrees of freedom (ODOF). The system is composed of rigid, linear molecules with Lennard- Jones interactions. The q-dependence of the static correlators S_{ll'}^m(q) strongly depend on l, l' and m. The time dependent correlators are calculated for l=l'. A thorough test of the predictions of mode coupling theory (MCT) is performed for S_{ll}^m(q,t) and its self part S_{ll}^{(s)m}(q,t), for l=1,..,6. Study of the imaging conditions and processing for the aspect control of specular surfaces

A vision system capable of imaging and detecting defects on reflective nonplanar surfaces in the production line at a high cadence is presented in this paper. Defects are typically dust located under the metallic layer of packaging products used in cosmetic industries. To realize this processing, structured lighting which reveals the defects in the image is proposed. Defects appear clearly in the images like a set of brilliant pixels in dark zones. In terms of three signs associated to two vectors and to a 2-plane, a formula for the signature of any four-dimensional metric is given. In the process, a simple expression for the sign of the Lorentzian metric signature is obtained. The rela- tionship between these results and those already known are commented upon.
F-signature of pairs and the asymptotic behavior of Frobenius splittings

We generalize $F$-signature to pairs $(R,D)$ where $D$ is a Cartier subalgebra on $R$ as defined by the first two authors. In particular, we show the existence and positivity of the $F$-signature for any strongly $F$-regular pair. In one application, we answer an open question of I. Aberbach and F. Enescu by showing that the $F$-splitting ratio of an arbitrary $F$-pure local ring is strictly positive. Furthermore, we derive effective methods for computing the $F$-signature and the $F$-splitting ratio in the spirit of the work of R. Fedder.
