Masters of their own time? Working carers’s visions about combining retirement and caring

How do working careers anticipate the timing of retirement and the weight of care commitments related to other activities when retired? This question is discussed by analysing the experiences of Finnish working careers. Most of the interviewees indicated that helping parent(s) would be part of their own retirement, but after leaving full-time work they would also like to devote time for their other personal interests, too. Working careers are willing to engage in caring when retired. However, they also have a desire to outline their caring tasks and manage their own time. nonPeerReviewed
Using altered states of consciousness in improvisational music therapy : the potential of resonance frequency breathing

Improvisational music therapy is a type of creative arts therapy in which clients are encouraged to express themselves through the symbolic and non-verbal medium of music, by creating free music improvisations together with the therapist. The present research aims at investigating whether the efficacy of this method can be further enhanced by purposefully accessing the ego-quieting properties of altered states of consciousness. Kun barokin laulumusiikin esittäjänä tutkin retoriikan actiota (ääni, ele, ilme, asento, liike) osana muusikko- tutkijan tutkimushankettani, pyrin työssäni yhdistämään toisaalta esittämiskäytäntöjen tutkimusta ja toisaalta fenomenologista lähestymistapaa, jossa huomio on kehollisessa kokemuksessa. Theoretical predictions of wimp-nucleus and neutrino-nucleus scattering in context of dark matter direct detection

The nature of dark matter is at present an open question. Assuming the main component of dark matter consists of weakly interacting massive particles (WIMPs), directly detecting such particle via a scattering process with an atomic nucleus would be a strong probe into properties of dark matter. So far direct detection experiments have not provided a conclusive signal of dark matter. Traditionally the experiments aim to detect a coherent, spin- independent, elastic scattering signal which is enhanced by the square of the nuclear mass number.
