Radioactivity control strategy for the JUNO detector

JUNO is a massive liquid scintillator detector with a primary scientific goal of determining the neutrino mass ordering by studying the oscillated anti-neutrino flux coming from two nuclear power plants at 53 km distance. The expected signal anti-neutrino interaction rate is only 60 counts per day (cpd), therefore a careful control of the background sources due to radioactivity is critical. In particular, natural radioactivity present in all materials and in the environment represents a serious issue that could impair the sensitivity of the experiment if appropriate countermeasures were not foreseen. Dzīvnieku mākslas darbi ir atpazīstami jau no seniem laikiem. To tēmas variē no medījuma līdz mājdzīvniekam. Diplomdarba galvenais pētījuma priekšmets ir dzīvnieku tēla interpretācija melnbaltās ilustrācijās. Teorētiskās daļas galvenais uzdevums ir izpētīt dzīvnieka tēla vēsturi un simboliku, kā arī melnbalto ilustrāciju tehnikas. Empīriskās daļas galvenais uzdevums ir analizēt dažādu mākslinieku veidotas dzīvnieka tēla ilustrācijas. Tika secināts, ka dzīvnieku simbolika var atšķirties katrā kultūrā, tomēr ir arī daži vienojošie elementi. Immersive virtual environments (VEs) have the potential to provide novel cost effective ways for evaluating not only new environments and usability scenarios, but also potential user experiences. To achieve this, VEs must be adequately realistic. The level of perceived authenticity can be ascertained by measuring the levels of immersion people experience in their VE interactions. In our study we explored how to design a biography of a late Finnish artist as a VR experience. We conducted a development process assisted by user experience (UX) design methods, which increased the process efficiency, and resulted in a research prototype. Through previous research and our development process, we identified components affecting the user experience. These components are: Immersion, Presence, Disorientation, Sense of Control, Pleasantness, Exploration and Simulator Sickness.
