Stochastic fracture analysis of systems with moving material

This paper considers the probability of fracture in a system in which a material travels supported by rollers. The moving material is subjected to longitudinal tension for which deterministic and stochastic models are studied. In the stochastic model, the tension is described by a multi-dimensional Ornstein-Uhlenbeck process. The material is assumed to have initial cracks perpendicular to the travelling direction, and a stochastic counting process describes the occurrence of cracks in the longitudinal direction of the material. In this paper we present an experimental study on real-time collision avoidance with potential fields that are based on 3D point cloud data and processed on the Graphics Processing Unit (GPU). The virtual forces from the potential fields serve two purposes. First, they are used for changing the reference trajectory. Second they are projected to and applied on torque control level for generating according nullspace behavior together with a Cartesian impedance main control loop. International audience; Seed-based heuristics have proved to be efficient for studying similarity between genetic databases with billions of base pairs. This paper focuses on algorithms and data structures for the filtering phase in seed-based heuristics, with an emphasis on efficient parallel GPU/manycores implementa- tion. We propose a 2-stage index structure which is based on neighborhood indexing and perfect hashing techniques. In their article, Yuan and Deng argue that a structural parameter under partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) is zero if and only if the same structural parameter is zero under covariance-based structural equation modeling (CB-SEM). Yuan and Deng then conclude that statistical tests on individual structural parameters assessing the null hypothesis of no effect can achieve the same purpose in CB-SEM and PLS-SEM. The purpose of this paper is to present some fixed point theorems for T -weakly isotone increasing mappings which satisfy a generalized nonlinear contractive condition in complete ordered metric spaces. As application, we establish an existence theorem for a solution of some integral equations.

Tässä pro gradu – työssä analysoidaan ranskan preesenspartisiipin käyttöä Claude Simonen romaanissa L’Invitation, sekä sen käännökset C.G. Bjurströmin tekemässä ruotsinnoksessa Inbjudningen. Työn tavoitteena on ymmärtää preesenspartisiipin merkitystä tyylikeinona alkuperäisteoksessa sekä selvittää millä keinoin sen luomat vivahteet voidaan ilmaista ruotsiksi. Tutkimusaineisto koostuu 513 preesenspartisiippimuodosta sekä näiden ruotsinkielisistä käännösvastineista. Enabling Energy Savings in Offshore Mechatronic Systems by using Self-Contained Cylinders

This paper proposes a novel actuation system for an offshore drilling application. It consists of three self-contained electro-hydraulic cylinders that can share and store regenerated energy. The energy saving potential of the proposed solution is analyzed through a multibody system simulation.
