In this work, two applications for the visualization of the aggregation and the solubilization of structureless interacting particles are presented. The applications allow to demonstrate on a qualitative basis as well as by quantitatively monitoring the time evolution of the surface/volume ratio and of the fractions of aggregated particles, that, on the one hand, the growth of nanoaggregates implies a decrease of their surface/volume ratio and, on the other, that the formation of homogeneous mixtures is the result of favorable solute-solvent interactions as well as of temperature. Vierasmolekyylien sitoutumisen mallintaminen lipokaliiniproteiineissa

Tässä työssä tutkittiin DigA16- ja 1KT7-proteiineja. Proteiineille suoritettiin klassisia MD-simulaatioita käyttämällä Orac4.0-ohjelmistoa. DigA16-proteiinin kokeellisesti mitattu rakenne täydennettiin tietokoneella ja kokonaisesta proteiinista simuloitiin kolmea eri rakennetta. 1KT7-proteiinin simulaation lähtörakenteena oli kokeellisesti mitattu rakenne, jota ei tarvinnut täydentää. Simulaatioita suoritettiin kutakin 10,751 nanosekunnin verran, joista 0,751 ns oli alustusta ja 10 ns simulointia 300 Kelvinissä. Tästä 10 ns vaiheesta kerättiin analysoitu data. Simulaation aikana kokonaisenergia kasvoi tasaisesti. Kasvu oli niin pientä, että sen voidaan katsoa johtuneen täysin MD-simulaatios…

Tämä pro gradu -tutkielma käsittelee simuloitu jäähdytys -nimisen kombinatorisen optimointimenetelmän teoriaa ja käytäntöä. Esimerkiksi kuvankäsittelyssä sovelletun algoritmin ideana on löytää annetulla joukolla määritellyn reaaliarvoisen energiafunktion globaali minimikohta sallimalla - ei pelkästään energiaa vähentäviä - vaan myös energiaa kasvattavia siirtymiä lähtöjoukon alkioiden välillä. Two‐sample problems in statistical data modelling

A common problem in mathematical statistics is to check whether two samples differ from each other. From modelling point of view it is possible to make a statistical test for the equality of two means or alternatively two distribution functions. The second approach allows to represent the two‐sample test graphically. This can be done by adding simultaneous confidence bands to the probability‐probability (P — P) or quantile‐quantile (Q — Q) plots. In this paper we compare empirically the accuracy of the classical two‐sample t‐test, empirical likelihood method and several bootstrap methods.
