P2PRealm - Peer-to-Peer Network Simulator
2006
Peer-to-peer realm (P2PRealm) is an efficient peer-to-peer network simulator for studying algorithms based on neural networks. In contrast to many simulators, which emphasize on detailed network simulation, the speed of simulation in P2PRealm is essential, because neural networks require a time consuming training phase. Efficiency has been obtained by optimizing training loops inside the simulator, using Java native interface (JNI) as well as distributing the simulator to hundreds of workstations using the P2PDisCo platform. In this paper we describe the architecture of P2PRealm and its input/output interfaces. Also, we present the mechanisms used for internally optimizing the implementatio…
XTDS and SPVIEW: Graphical tools for the analysis and simulation of high-resolution molecular spectra
2008
International audience; XTDS is a Java front-end to the different programs implementing the tensorial formalism developed in the Dijon group [see for instance: V. Boudon, J.-P. Champion, T. Gabard, M. Loëte, F. Michelot, G. Pierre, M. Rotger, Ch. Wenger, M. Rey, J. Mol. Spectrosc. 228 (2004) 620–634 ]. It allows the simulation and analysis of polyad systems for molecules of various symmetries (Td and Oh spherical tops like CH4 and SF6, C2v and C4v quasi-spherical tops like SO2F2 and SF5Cl, D2h molecules like C2H4). SPVIEW is a multiplatform Java application that allows graphical assignment of high-resolution molecular spectra. It is possible to load, display and manipulate experimental and …
A theoretical model for laser and powder particles interaction during laser cladding
2002
Abstract Interactions between the laser and the powder particles lead to attenuation of the laser and make the powder particles temperatures raise. According to given stream spread and speed of the powder particles, their temperature distribution at the surface of the workpiece is calculated. The attenuation of the laser induced by the cloud is also computed. These results are plotted for the case of a Gaussian distribution. Results show that with the increasing of the powder jet incidence angle, both temperature distribution of powder particles and attenuation of the laser have very different profiles. Their effects on the clad should be considered for modelling of laser cladding.

Noise Induced Phenomena in point Josephson junctions
2008
We present the analysis of the mean switching time and its standard deviation of short overdamped Josephson junctions, driven by a direct current and a periodic signal. The effect of noise enhanced stability is investigated. It is shown that fluctuations may both decrease and increase the switching time.
INFLUENCE OF LENGTH ON THE NOISE DELAYED SWITCHING OF LONG JOSEPHSON JUNCTIONS
2008
The transient dynamics of long overlap Josephson junctions in the frame of the sine-Gordon model with a white noise source is investigated. The effect of noise delayed decay is observed for the case of overdamped sine-Gordon equation. It is shown that this noise induced effect, in the range of small noise intensities, vanishes for junctions lengths greater than several Josephson penetration length.
Inhibition Mechanism of SARS‐CoV‐2 Main Protease with Ketone‐Based Inhibitors Unveiled by Multiscale Simulations: Insights for Improved Designs**
2021
Abstract We present the results of classical and QM/MM simulations for the inhibition of SARS‐CoV‐2 3CL protease by a hydroxymethylketone inhibitor, PF‐00835231. In the noncovalent complex the carbonyl oxygen atom of the warhead is placed in the oxyanion hole formed by residues 143 to 145, while P1–P3 groups are accommodated in the active site with interactions similar to those observed for the peptide substrate. According to alchemical free energy calculations, the P1′ hydroxymethyl group also contributes to the binding free energy. Covalent inhibition of the enzyme is triggered by the proton transfer from Cys145 to His41. This step is followed by the nucleophilic attack of the Sγ atom on …
CiNetView - Graphic Interface for Wireless Sensor Network Deployment and Monitoring
2010
Reliable communication is crucial for successful deployment of a wireless sensor network. Many environmental factors can affect the performance of radio links, and the deployment of a network without real-time information about link qualities can be a demanding task. This paper describes the CiNetView application that is intended to support the deployment and monitoring of wireless sensor network. CiNetView is based on diagnostic information collected by sensor nodes, and it allows the user to see a graphical presentation of the network topology and to monitor the network diagnostic information in real time.
Co-occurrence of resonant activation and noise-enhanced stability in a model of cancer growth in the presence of immune response.
2006
We investigate a stochastic version of a simple enzymatic reaction which follows the generic Michaelis-Menten kinetics. At sufficiently high concentrations of reacting species, the molecular fluctuations can be approximated as a realization of a Brownian dynamics for which the model reaction kinetics takes on the form of a stochastic differential equation. After eliminating a fast kinetics, the model can be rephrased into a form of a one-dimensional overdamped Langevin equation. We discuss physical aspects of environmental noises acting in such a reduced system, pointing out the possibility of coexistence of dynamical regimes where noise-enhanced stability and resonant activation phenomena …
