This article describes a model of pedagogical intervention in history and philosophy of physics in physics teacher education. This model is focussed on developing a critical knowledge on some selected founding concepts of physics in their historical context, as well as on the development of an adequate knowledge of the Nature of Science as it was developed in the twentieth century Philosophy of Science. The opportunity of using wave energy converters in a Mediterranean hot spot

The opportunity of using wave energy converter arrays in a hot spot area of the Mediterranean sea was investigated. For this purpose, numerical simulations of wave energy converters together with a simple cost-effective analysis were carried out. The selected study area is one of the most energetic inside the Sicilian channel (Italy). The numerical simulations were performed using the SNL-SWAN (“Sandia National Laboratories – Simulating WAves Nearshore”) spectral model with an unstructured mesh. It is an association legally acknowledged by Decree of the President of the Italian Republic in February 1957. Rapporten presenterer planleggingen og evalueringen av et prosjekt gjennomført i forbindelse med praksis i somatisk sykehus i sykepleierutdanningen ved Høgskolen i Agder. I prosjektperioden ble det gjennomført både fortløpende evalueringer og avsluttende evalueringer av erfaringene som ble meldt tilbake fra studenter og ansatte ved avdelingen, på denne formen for organisering av praksisperioden. Prosjektet har vært et samarbeidsprosjekt mellom Høgskolen i Agder, Fakultet for helse- og idrettsfag, sykepleierutdanningen og SSHF, Arendal, Post 3 C.
Orthotrichum pilosissimum (Orthotrichaceae), a new moss from arid areas of Nevada with unique axillary hairs

Abstract Orthotrichum pilosissimum is described from herbarium material and recently collected specimens in the state of Nevada. Its specific epithet refers to the diagnostic hyper-developed axillary hairs, which are frequently longer than 1 mm, multiseriate and branched, covering most of the stems surface and sometimes protruding from the foliose shoots. These hairs are not only unique in the genus but also among mosses, providing a reliable diagnostic character for the new taxon. Additional gametophytic and sporophytic characters that contribute to its taxonomic delimitation are also given.
Fungal ecology on grapes

Microbial population of grapes is important from a technological point of view because it determines the quality of wine. But few studies have focused on fungal populations of grapes. A better knowledge of the fungal diversity on grapes, particularly as concerns species responsible for wine defects, may help efforts to control their development.We report the development of a PCR ITS-RFLP method as a fast and easy technique for identifying species of fungal genera present on grapes. By this methode, 41 different fungal species among 43 studied species belonging to 11 genera were characterized at the species level. Only P. thomii remained indistinguishable from P. glabrum.
