L'esercizio svolto da Sophie Morlaix ha prodotto un indicatore sulla falsariga di quello messo a punto dal premio Nobel per l'economia Amartya Sen per misurare il grado di povertà. Morlaix ha applicato il modello di Sen ai dati prodotti dall'indagine PISA sulle cometenze dei quindicenni nella comprensione della lettura, della matematica e del sapere scientifico. In questo breve capitolo si dimostra come si possano fare parlare i dati in modo che rivelino aspetti non afferrabili a prima vista, come è il caso dell'equità dell'istruzione che si puo far emergere, almeno per ora, solo con misure indirette.
A six legs buck-boost interleaved converter for KERS application

This paper addresses the design of a bi-directional DC/DC power converter to interface a supercapacitor bank and a motor-generator unit. The design is based on an interleaved six legs topology in which the current is shared among six inductors to minimize their weight and cost, allowing, besides, a low switching frequency to lessen switching losses. The converter is conceived to be employed in an electric Kinetic Energy Recovery System for Internal Combustion Engine Vehicles. The system makes use of a supercapacitor as a storage system, and a motorgenerator unit connected to the drive shaft for vehicle acceleration and braking. A novel two-step knowledge-based exploratory framework is proposed in this paper for studying quality of Italian Mobile Telecommunication Services (MTSs). Particularly, the Delphi technique is initially considered to finalize an overall quality structure of MTSs features, indicators and drivers, herein described on the basis of a comprehensive review of the fundamental references for the field, and also to select the key elements with reference to the Italian context. A novel fuzzy framework is considered to analyze healthcare service quality.The fundamental quality structure of healthcare service delivered in Sicily is described.The public healthcare in Sicily (Italy) is strategically analyzed.Strategic stakeholders' oriented implications for healthcare improvements are given.
