Wage Effects of Firm Size : Evidence from Linked Employer-Employee Panel

This study explores the relationship between wages and firm size using large registered data and different identification strategies. We found that the effect of firm size on wages is negligible when worker and firm characteristics are accounted for. The findings are robust across identification strategies and numerous covariates. The findings are also consistent with the view that coordinated wage-setting systems narrow wage distributions. peerReviewed

Catania waterfront identity is based on spatial relationships between the “Late Baroque Towns of the Val di Noto” UNESCO site and the infrastructures – rail and harbour – that are in front of the XVI century city wall. Recognizing Video Resolution by Monitoring Memory Metrics in Mobile Clients

Content delivery is one of the most successful applications in mobile networks. Mobile edge servers are significantly contributing to the improvement of this type of applications, by also performing resolution adaptations as a function of the radio link quality observed by the users. In this paper, we face the problem of dynamically tracking the perceived video resolution by mobile clients in a mobile edge environment to guarantee an agreed Service Level Agreement (SLA). To this purpose, we propose a protocol-agnostic approach, based on monitoring some memory metrics of a running video streaming process at the mobile client, for identifying the time-varying resolution of the video content.

Este artículo presenta los principales temas abordados por los economistas de la educación a lo largo de los últimos cincuenta años. Después de recordar brevemente los antecedentes de la disciplina, se describen las aportaciones teóricas y empíricas realizadas a raíz del desarrollo de la teoría del capital humano, que es el fundamento de la economía de la educación. Más allá de los trabajos que tratan de los efectos externos de la educación, el artículo repasa también las principales aportaciones efectuadas en el análisis de los sistemas de enseñanza y en la evaluación de las políticas educativas.

Rimšelis, M. „Grunts granulometriskā sastāva un fizikālo īpašību interpretācijas iespējas pēc statiskās zondēšanas datiem”. Bakalaura darbs. Rīga, Latvijas Universitāte, Ģeogrāfijas un Zemes zinātņu fakultāte, 2015. Bakalaura darba mērķis ir salīdzināt statiskās zondēšanas datus ar laboratorijā analizēto grunšu paraugu rezultātiem un novērtēt granulometriskā sastāva un fizikālo īpašību interpretācijas iespējas. Rezultāti pierāda, ka nav iespējams ar statisko zondēšanu noteikt tādus parametrus, kā grunts granulometriskais sastāvs un tādu fizikālu īpašību kā dabīgais mitrums, tomēr iegūtais berzes koeficients netieši norāda uz to mainību.
