Sadzīvē iegūtā pneimonija ir bieži sastopama slimība, tās izmaksas ir ļoti dārgas. Tā izraisa ievērojamu saslimstību un mirstību. SIP, kurai nepieciešama hospitalizācija, sastopamība ir aptuveni 25-30 gadījumi uz 10 000 pieaugušajiem. Antimikrobiālā rezistence ir ļoti nopietns jautājums pneimonijas ārstēšanā. Atšķirībā no dažādam valstīm, atšķīrās antimikrobiālā rezistence. Pēc PVO datiem, Latvijā Streptococcus pneumoniae rezistence pret makrolīdiem ir grupā no 25 līdz 50%. Darbā ir analizēta informācija par pneimoniju, tās ārstēšanas un profilakses iespējam, ka arī iespējām mikroorganismu antibakteriālās rezistences pārvarēšanā. Bakalaura darba „Lielbritānijas aizsardzības politikas attīstība kopš 2001. gada” mērķis ir noskaidrot, cik lielā mērā Lielbritānijas aizsardzības politika kopš 2001. gada ir attīstījusies saskaņā ar ASV aizsardzības politiku. Lai to paveiktu, autors teorētiskajā daļā Lielbritānijas politikas raksturošanai ir izmantojis vidējās varas un piesliešanās jēdzienus. Savukārt empīriskajā daļā autors ir apkopojis un analizējis Lielbritānijas un ASV aizsardzības politikas dokumentus sasaistē ar vidējās varas un piesliešanās jēdzieniem. The copolymers of ethylene (E) with open-caged iso-butyl-substituted tri-alkenyl-silsesquioxanes (POSS-6-3 and POSS-10-3) and phenyl-substituted tetra-alkenyl-silsesquioxane (POSS-10-4) were synthesized by copolymerization over the ansa-metallocene catalyst. The influence of the kind of silsesquioxane and of the copolymerization conditions on the reaction performance and on the properties of the copolymers was studied. We have determined by forced Rayleigh scattering the diffusion coefficients of photo-labeled polystyrene micronetwork spheres (radii ≤ 10 nm) in melts of linear polyvinylmethylether (M W ≤ 40000 g/mol) at temperatures of 20-80°C. An expected slippage of the spheres through the meshes of the entanglement network appears possible but is still within the experimental uncertainty of our results.

UV-photocrosslinking of inulin derivatives to produce hydrogels for drug delivery application.

In this work, INU, a natural polysaccharide, has been chemically modified in order to obtain new photocrosslinkable derivatives. To reach this goal, INU has been derivatized with MA thus obtaining four samples (INU-MA derivatives) as a function of the temperature and time of reaction. An aqueous solution of the derivative INU-MA1 was irradiated by using a UV lamp with an emission range from 250 to 364 nm and without using photoinitiators. The obtained hydrogel showed a remarkable water affinity but it underwent a partial degradation in simulated gastric fluid. Here, for the production of a bioink-based gellan gum, an amino derivative of this polysaccharide was mixed with a mono-functionalized aldehyde polyethyleneglycol in order to improve viscoelastic macroscopic properties and the potential processability by means of bioprinting techniques as confirmed by the printing tests. En la Cordillera de la Costa de Chile, de 36° a 35°S, se encuentra expuesta la arquitectura coherentemente preservada de un prisma de acrecion del Paleozoico tardio, en cercana vecindad a un area entre los 34° y 35°S, donde el mismo esta fuertemente modificado por procesos postacrecionales. Estudiando las desviaciones de la arquitectura original, en esta region pueden ser perfectamente distinguidas estructuras sin- y post acrecionales.
