Effect of Mg2+ ions on competitive metal ions adsorption/desorption on magnesium ferrite : mechanism, reusability and stability studies
2021
The adsorption behavior of magnesium ferrite in single- and multicomponent metal ions solutions in the presence of Mg2+ ions were studied. A dramatic decrease in the adsorption capacity of magnesium ferrite towards Mn2+, Co2+, and Ni2+ ions for comparison study of single- and multicomponent solutions was established. The affinity of the sorbent in accordance with the maximum sorption capacities increases in the following order Cu2+ > Co2+ > Ni2+ > Mn2+. High efficiency of magnesium ferrite regeneration (~100%) with aqueous solutions of magnesium chloride in the concentration range of 0.001-0.1 M was shown. The low degree of toxic metal ions desorption combined with XRD, IR spectroscopy, and…
A doubly bridged isodicyclopentadienyl zirconium complex: bis{N-(3,5-dimethylphenyl)-N-[(η5-isodicyclopentadien-2-yl)dimethylsilyl]amido-κN}zirconium…
2002
Transmetallation of the dilithium salt of (3,5-dimethyphenylamino)(isodicyclopentadienyl)dimethylsilane by treatment with zirconium tetrachloride in a 2:1 ratio leads to the substitution of all four chloride ligands. With the applied stoichiometry, the title complex, [Zr(C(20)H(25)NSi)(2)].C(4)H(10)O, was obtained and crystallized from diethyl ether. X-ray diffraction characterization showed that both isodicyclopentadienyl ligands (alternatively called 4,5,6,7-tetrahydro-4,7-methano-1H-indene) are complexed to the metal on their exo face in a completely stereoselective manner and that they are eta(5)-bonded to the Zr atom.
Coordination versatility of pyridine-functionalized N-heterocyclic carbenes: a detailed study of the different activation procedures. Characterizatio…
2005
Three different reaction procedures for the coordination of N-n-butyl-N'-(2-pyridylmethyl)imidazolium salt have produced new N-heterocyclic complexes of Rh and Ir. The direct reaction of the imidazolium salt with [IrCl(cod)](2) provides a NHC-Ir(III)-H complex, while transmetalation from a silver-NHC complex and deprotonation with NEt(3) give new NHC complexes of M(I) and M(III) when reacting with [MCl(cod)](2) or [MCl(coe)(2)](2) (M = Rh, Ir). The crystal structures of the biscarbene Rh(III) and Ir(III) complexes are described. The catalytic properties of the compounds obtained have been tested in the hydrosilylation of acetylenes, the cyclization of acetylenic carboxylic acids, and hydrog…
Equilibrium, Kinetic and Structural Properties of Gallium(III) and Some Divalent Metal Complexes Formed with the New DATAm and DATA5m Ligands
2017
The development of 68Ge/68Ga generators has made the positron-emitting 68Ga isotope widely accessible and raised interest in new chelate complexes of Ga3+. The hexadentate 1,4-di(acetate)-6-methyl[amino(methyl)acetate]perhydro-1,4-diazepane (DATAm) ligand and its bifunctional analogue, 1,4-di(acetate)-6-pentanoic acid[amino(methyl)acetate]perhydro-1,4-diazepane (DATA5m), rapidly form complexes with 68Ga in high radiochemical yield. The stability constants of DATAm and DATA5m complexes formed with Ga3+, Zn2+, Cu2+, Mn2+ and Ca2+ have been determined by using pH potentiometry, spectrophotometry (Cu2+) and 1H and 71Ga NMR spectroscopy (Ga3+). The stability constants of Ga(DATAm) and Ga(DATA5m)…
Kadmiumaltistuksen havaitseminen Hydropsyche pellucidula -vesiperhostoukilla (Trichoptera: Hydropsychidae) hyperspektrikuvantamisen ja kidusvaurioide…
2017
Redox Properties, Bioactivity and Health Effects of Indicaxanthin, a Bioavailable Phytochemical from Opuntia ficus indica, L.: A Critical Review of A…
2022
Phytochemicals from plant foods are considered essential to human health. Known for their role in the adaptation of plants to their environment, these compounds can induce adaptive responses in cells, many of which are directed at maintaining the redox tone. Indicaxanthin is a long-known betalain pigment found in the genus Opuntia of cactus pear and highly concentrated in the edible fruits of O. ficus indica, L. whose bioactivity has been overlooked until recently. This review summarizes studies conducted so far in vitro and in vivo, most of which have been performed in our laboratory. The chemical and physicochemical characteristics of Indicaxanthin are reflected in the molecule’s reducing…

Investigation of the aqueous transmetalation of π-allylpalladium with indium salt: the use of the Pd(OAc)2–TPPTS catalyst
2005
pi-Allylpalladium complexes could be generated in water by the palladium(0) water soluble catalyst prepared in situ from palladium acetate and TPPTS. These complexes were transmetalated with indium to react with benzaldehyde. The aqueous solution of Pd(0)(TPPTS)(n) could be reused without deterioration of the catalyst in the first and second recycling. The system proved to be efficient with primary and secondary allylic substrates. The stereochemical outcome of the allylation through umpolung of allylpalladium, was also studied using models with a restraint conformation.
New applications of zoobenthos measurements for risk assessment of chemicals in aquatic ecosystems
2015
Artikkeliväitöskirja. Yhteenveto-osa ja viisi artikkelia. (Artikkelit eivät avoimesti saatavilla.) Article dissertation. An introduction and five articles (not available in this version). Benthic animals in aquatic ecosystems suffer from various anthropogenic pollutants. A challenge in risk assessment of chemicals in aquatic ecosystems (i.e. ecological risk assessment) has been to balance cost-efficiency and effectiveness in detecting early warning signals of chemicals. In this study, hyperspectral imaging and behavioural measurements were evaluated as novel applications for detecting chemical effects on benthic animals, and the reliability of the incidence of chironomid morphological defor…

Standardization in Corporate Social Responsibility has become more popular since re-cent years. A wide range of standards that seek to implement and evaluate the Corpo-rate Social Responsibility in companies, has become increasingly popular worldwide nowadays especially when companies producing goods and services are required by their international customers worldwide to obtain these standards. Most studies of this phenomenon have been done from the point of view of big companies and international brands and does not take into account the point of view of manufacturers located in the developing countries, were most goods are manufactured. This thesis investigates the influence of the Corpor…
