Réponses des cellules de Nicotiana tabacum à des molécules microbiennes : évènements de signalisation précoce, influence de la dynamique membranaire …

2018

In their natural environment plants are in close interaction with beneficial, neutral, or pathogenic microbes, which are highly dependent on carbon resources exuded by plant roots. Sugar transport, which is a key process of plant physiology, is essential to support the fate of plant-microbe interactions. During evolution, plants have acquired the ability to perceive microbial molecules, initiating specific signal transduction cascades and leading to adapted response for microbe lifestyles (avirulent, virulent, or benefic). Plant survival will depend on the nature of the induced mechanisms. My PhD work, carried out on a simplified experimental system, contributes to the understanding of mech…

Compression-based classification of biological sequences and structures via the Universal Similarity Metric: experimental assessment.

2007

Abstract Background Similarity of sequences is a key mathematical notion for Classification and Phylogenetic studies in Biology. It is currently primarily handled using alignments. However, the alignment methods seem inadequate for post-genomic studies since they do not scale well with data set size and they seem to be confined only to genomic and proteomic sequences. Therefore, alignment-free similarity measures are actively pursued. Among those, USM (Universal Similarity Metric) has gained prominence. It is based on the deep theory of Kolmogorov Complexity and universality is its most novel striking feature. Since it can only be approximated via data compression, USM is a methodology rath…

SMEs' heterogeneity at the extensive margin and within the intensive margin of trade

2021

In this paper, we contribute to the literature on firm-heterogeneity and trade, by looking not only at the firm-level determinants of trade participation (i.e. extensive margin) but also at differences between firms with different levels of trade intensity (i.e. intensive margin). Further, we compare firms that are born ‘local’ and display different scales of international exposure to firms that are born ‘global’, i.e. access international markets soon after their birth. Using a large World Bank dataset of SMEs from 112 countries and qualitative dependent variable models, our analysis uncovers the heterogeneity of SMEs not only at the extensive margin but also within the intensive margin of…

L’agroforesterie, le futur de la viticulture ?

2020

The Strategy and the Reasons of the Republic of Moldova's Association with European Union

2014

Abstract The European Union and the Republic of Moldova negotiated an Association Agreement (AA) in 2010, and a Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area (DCFTA) in 2012. After completion of negotiations and initialling of AA, before the full Agreement can enter into force, action is needed to ensure that the Parties are able to enjoy the full benefits of the Agreement. SMEs play a focal role in the implementation of the future DCFTA. The article describes the economic and political basis for association/integration, outlining the importance of SMEs. This article is reasoning for future PhD research in this area.
