Some fatigue fractures lead to morbidity and loss of active, physically-demanding training days. Abstract The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of two different training programs on strength and power performance and serum hormone concentrations. A total of 104 male soldiers volunteered and took part in the 12‐week training period with baseline, mid‐, and post‐measurements of body composition, muscle strength, lower and upper body power, and blood samples to determine serum hormone concentrations. The mean (±SD) age of subjects was 20 ± 1 years, height 180 ± 6 cm and body mass 72.4 ± 8.8 kg. Militārā joma vēsturiski un sociāli tiek definēta kā tradicionāli vīrišķīga – tā ir, iespējams, viena no arhetipiski vīrišķīgākajām sociālajām struktūrām Rietumu sabiedrībā (Segal 1995). Taču militārajā dienestā un karadarbībā tik un tā sastopamas arī sievietes. Šajā bakalaura darbā pētīta 23 sieviešu pieredze, kuras visas dienē vai dienējušas Kanādas Bruņotajos spēkos (KBS) pēdējo četrdesmit gadu laikā. Šo sieviešu pieredze apkopota daļēji strukturētās intervijās, kas veiktas gan klātienē, gan rakstiskā formātā. Conscripts and soldiers have to perform their duties in a multistressor environment. During prolonged periods of combat training, fluctuations in strength levels and hormone concentrations have been noted. However, there is limited information regarding the changes in shooting performance and whether changes in strength and hormonal concentrations are correlated with it. This study examined strength levels, shooting performance and hormonal fluctuations during a 3-week combat training period. Possible correlations between the variables were examined and investigated.
